Cosmos Divine Scientific

The document discusses the divine and scientific aspects of the cosmos according to Vedic culture. It describes how the cosmos is visualized as the divine form of Lord Vishnu or Lord Shiva through concepts like Simsumara Chakram. The entire cosmic manifestation is seen as a divine cycle of evolution and involution. Modern science only sees the empirical mechanical aspects but not any divinity, seeing the universe as arising from the Big Bang. Vedic astrology aims to link the cosmic divine vision to empirical mechanical events through predictive principles based on the law of cause and effect.

COSMOS: THE DIVINE AND SCIENTIFIC ASPECTS.

Simsumara Chakram Dr.K.Vasudeva Murthy P.B.Raghavaiah R.Chandra Sekhara Rao

In Vedic Culture the entire macro cosmic manifestation in its totality is supposed to be just a quarter of the descended divinity in mechanical form from the Nodus Eternity as a part of the regular cycles of evolution and involution (Padosya Viswa Bhootani). It is beleived that the visualisation of the cosmos is the result of out going conscious mind, human or Cosmic, while the dormant state is the involution. (Aum Yad Jagrato Duramupiti Daivam Tadu Suptasya Tadhevethi). The formation of Mahat and Panchatanmatras on one side in the initial step as conscious part and divine but inexpressible mechanical Panchabhutas on the other side of the coin in the succeding step, as the two different manifestations of the same consciousness (Duramgamam Jyotisham Jyotirekam Tanme Siva Samkalpamastu) is the fundamental Vedic concept. So there is an invariable cosmic time cycle involving the human behaviour from total self transcendence (Krutayuga) to self assertion and selfishness (kaliyuga) and viceversa. Though all religions beleive in the existance of a divine force, modern science will not accept any divinity or super natural force as it is not within the emperical purview. As a result the modern science is restricted only to one side of the truth.

The modern science states that the universe was born at a specific time. may be fifteen billion years back, in a Big Bang, expanding eversince, and ends at a particular time in far future. Starting from galaxies to quarks the behavioural patterns are regular and predictable on the basis of few mechanical laws. However the inexplicable mind and theoritical deductions of micro cosmic continuity, besides the Monistic logical deductions of the philosophical schools indicate that the cosmos is not a simple mechanical entity, but is invariably associated with some inseparable conscious continuity that can be experienced, but beyond the emperical evidence. The Vedic culture meditates upon this consciousness of the cosmos as the conceivable form of supreme divinity under different nomenclatures such as Lord Vishnu, Lord Sankara, Godess Sakthi etc..So the entire Vedic literature, rituals, yogas etc. are invariably and intimately associated with the different constellations of the cosmos in general and with the ecliptic in particular. In most of the Mythologies the cosmogenesis, structural organisation of different constellations from north to south pole, solar movement and the day length variation in different solcistices and equinoxes; position, distance and relative speeds of different planets in their revolutions, etc are described in the chapter Jyotirvyavastha. In Vedas cosmology is in principle, in Puranas it is in the form of descriptive mythological divine manifestations, while in Jyotirveda it is found as a scientific analysis. So Vedic astrology is a link between the cosmic and mechanical visions. It gives statistical and predictable evidences to the mechanical events of the world on the basis of scientific law of cause and action. In science this law is restricted to the mechanical events where as in astrology it is extended to the invisible Divinity also (Parasparam Bhavayantaha Sreyaha Paramavapsyadha) as it is the other side of the coin, as explained above. SIMSUMARA CHAKRAM AND LORD VISHNU : The divine visualisation of the cosmos as the personified cosmic body of Lord Vishnu in the form of Simsumara kundali is most astonishing. The entire cosmos in general and the ecliptic in particular are described as the cosmic body of the Lord under the name of Simsumara Kundali or Chakra, specifically for the yogic meditation (Yogi Hrudhyana Gamyam). Out of the 14 worlds of constellations of Cosmos symbolised in the body of Simsumara kundali, Dhruva (Polaris) is at the end of the tail at the north pole (Vishnuloka) while the Lord resides as Anantha in the lower most Patala i.e. south pole where the head and hoods of Simsumara Kundali are present. Dhruva is succeded

by the sages Dhata, Vidhata, Indra, Agni, Kasyapa and Dharma (Ursa Minor), and then by the sages Marichi,Vasista, Angirasa, Atri, Pulastya, Pulaha and Kratu of the Saptarshi Mandala (Ursa Major).

The ecliptic which is known as the Kalachakram, Jagacchakram, Dharmachakram, Sudarsanam, is described as the two lateral parts of the Simsumara. The 28 stars including the Abhijit or Vega are described as different parts of the body such as eyes, ears, bones etc.The lower northern Agastya (Canopus) is described as the upper jaw and the lower most constellation Yama (Mensa) as the upper jaw. Our Solar system and the seven planets along with the Nodes are described as different ventral parts of the body and the remaining stars as hairs. The ecliptic is described as a ring road divided into three lanes. the 1st one is the Iravatha Veedhi with the 1st set of nine constellations starting from Aswini in Aries to Aslesha in Cancer, in three sub divisions called Naga, Gaja and Iravatha. The 2nd one is the Jaradgava Veedhi with the 2nd set of nine constellations starting from Makha in Leo to Jyesta in Scorpio, in three sub divisions known as Rushabha, Go and Jaradgava. The last one is the Vyswanara Veedhi with the last set of nine constellations starting from Moola in Sagittarius to Revathi in Pisces in three sub divisions called Aja, Mruga and Vyswanara. The movement of the solar system and the time taken for the revolution of each planet is described in detail along with the equinoctial position and its precession. In Nakshatra Purusha Puja the 27 constellations are worshipped as the body of Lord Vasudeva starting from Moola as his feet, Mrugasire as eye, Chitta and Satabhisham as face and fore head. It is Stated that the entire cosmos is kept in position, shape and balence inspite of the revolutions of all constellations around the Polaris, by the invisible seven types of cosmic airy strings of Matariswa called as Avaha, Pravaha, Savaha, Udvaha Vivaha, Parivaha and Paravahava. This entire description of the cosmos as the Simsumara Kundali through the continuity of cosmic air from south to north pole as the personified vision of Lord Vishnu is a symbolic path way of the Kundalini Yoga or the Serpent Power (Rajayoga or Hathayoga). He, who has no control over his desires and when the energy flows out through the mirror of mind making him an extrovert, can not over come the Vishnu Maya and fails to realise the Atman. He repeatedly revolves in the ring

road of the ecliptic in paternal worlds at the lower equinix in Libra, the symbol of marriage and desires, through the gate way of Cancer. But when he concentrates and takes control over his mind and threads of cosmic air through the Pranayama (Prana and Yama) in Sushumna, finds the clear way from Mooladhara to Sahasrara, becomes Urdhva retaska and reaches the 3rd foot of Lord Vishnu which is over and above the Polaris on the equinoctial vertical axis of Libra and Aries. This is the very purposs and background of the Indian annual ceremonial oblations. In the ceremonial functions, remembering and supposing the late parents as in Vasurupa in Vasuloka or Pitruloka in and around the earth and ecliptic in the Cancer and Capricorn axis; grand parents in Rudraloka around and above the ecliptic; and the great grand parents in the Adityaloka in between the cosmos and Satyaloka; the food, water and prayers are offered. This is the gate way or Brahmarandhra where from they will be releived of all bondages with the supplementation of the required food and prayers of the inheritors of the family tradition. It is here in the Pitruyana in the solar month of Cancer Lord enters into yoganidra on the day of Sayanaikadasi in the winter solstices and wakes up towords Devayana in Sagittarius month on the Utthanaekadasi just before summer solstices. Lord Vishnu wakes up from Yoga Maya from the bed of Sesha in Scorpio and travels on his vehicle Garuda (Aquila). His two sons, Manmadha is in Sagittarius and Brahma in Aquarius (Cygnus and Lyra). All this is there, described in detail in Simsumarakundali of the cosmos in all most all the Puranas and in the, while it is in subtle principle in Vedas such as yat pundareekam puramadhya samstham sushiragam tasmin sarvam pratistitametc. This is the microscopic principle present in the Vishnu Suktam found as an expanded macroscopic mythological event in the story of Lord Vamana or Vishnu at the north pole, and Emperor Bali along with Anantha in Patala at the south pole. COSMOS-LORD SANKARA: The divine cosmic personification of Lord Sankara is much more surprising and adoring. Here the cosmos and constellations are not explained in detail, but mythologically represented as divine dedecations. The Gods representative of death i.e. Yama Dharma Raja is at the south pole (Mensa) to whom is connected the river Vaitarani or Yamuna (Eridanus), Yamas sister,on southern side and unites with the sacred Ganga i.e. our galaxy, after traveling all the way to the ecliptic, in the house of Gemini at the constellation Ardra. Lord Sankara is the God of the star Ardra and he resides there with Parvathi as Midhuna. On his left side is Cancer, the house of Moon whose Godess is Gouri. Lord Ganapathi is in Leo in the constellation Hasta and Lord Kumara is in the constellation Kruttika in Taurus. The symbol of mortal death is Saturn the owner of Aquarius and Capricorn and his Adhideavatha is Yama. The Kailasa is supposed to be above the north pole with Gourilika on its left side and Vishnuloka on right side. The 11 constellations, Purvabhadra of Aquarius (Ajaekapada), Uttarabhadra of Pisces (Ahirbudhyna), Kruttika of Taurus (Dahana) Rohini of Taurus (Pinaki), Mrugasira of Taurus (Kapardi and Stanu) Ardra of Gemini (Rudra and Mrugavyadha) Punarvasu of Cancer (Eesana) Aslesha of Cancer (Sarpa) and Moola of Sagittarius

(Nyruti) are considered as the Ekadasa Rudras and Sankara is worshipped as Mrutyumjaya for granting health and longivity as Saturn and Yama are under his control. The life is a harmonious co-ordinated functioning of different complex macromolecules in a cell and the co-ordinating junction is called as Grandhi or knot between the physical body and mind. The mind and life are the two sides of the same coin Manasaha Spandanam Pranaha Pranaha Spandanam Manaha. This complicated knot is under the control of Mrutyumjaya situated in the 2nd (Gemini) and 3rd houses (Gemini) of Kala Purusha. They are the houses of death and longivity in astrology and all the constellations of these two houses i.e Kruttica, Rohini. Mrugasire, Ardra and Punarvasu are known as Rudras (seven out of eleven). So Lord Sankara is preyed upon to strengthen this knot of life as Prananam Grandhirasi Rudro Ma Visantakaha.
In Saivam Lord Sankara is praised as Aapathala nabhasthalanta brahmanda mavisphurat jyoti spatikalinga.... the entire universe, from the lowest Patala to the highest duo loka i.e the fourteen worlds, is worshipped as an absolute solidifide immortal indivisible bright light of singularity called Jyotirlinga showering the immortal nectary rays of wisdom from the top. This is the underlying meaning of every hymn of the Rudram of Yajurveda samhita. The Parabrahma is supposed to have taken the form of Jyotirlinga in the star Kruttika of Kartika month but becomes visible to the naked eye at the Ardra of Gemini in the Sagittarius month from which the Lord Rudra has taken his physical form during the zero hours of Magha Bahula Chaturdasi of Kumbha rasi and later differenciated into Parvati and Parameswara. This day is worshipped as Sivaratri. The opposite 7th house of Khumbam is Leo where exactly at 180 degrees in the star Pubba of Venus, falls the birthday of Lord Krishna and Yogamaya who are believed to be identical with Parvathi. The Leo is the 5th house to Aries. The 5th house represents children. From Aries the Goat headed Prajapathi, father of Parvathi is supposed to have carried out the creation. In the Aditya sayana Vratam The 27 constellations are worshipped as the different parts of the body of Lord Siva starting from Hasta of Virgo to Uttara of Leo. The 12 Jyotirlingas are believed and worshipped as the 12 houses of the zodiac. COSMOS AND SRI CHAKRA: The Cosmic worship of Sri RajaRajeswari in the form of Sri Chakra is an unparallel wonder in the religious history of the world. In the Srichakra the outermost 3 layers of Bhupuram are considered as the 3 different worlds: gross, subtle and causal of the Omkara, the 16 petaled lotus as the lunar movement and the symbol of time, the 12 petaled lotus as the 12 houses of the Zodiac, the Astakona to Trikona triangles as the six Yogachakras, the central point as the Lord Sankara and the whole Srichakra as Maha Tripura Sundari. In yogasastra the backbone of the man is considered as the yogadanda and is identical with the equinoctial beam of the zodiac with its six bilateral pairs of houses as the six yogachakras. The 9 triangles, four of Lord Sankara and five of Mahadevi represent the 9 physical components and 9 sensory outlets of the body. They further represent the 27 constellations and 9 planets of the zodiac. This type of correlated and coordinated symbolism of the Cosmos, man, and time along with yogasastra is unique in Srichakra. The puja of Sri Raja Rajeaswari in Sarannavaratri in Libra against the Vasanta Navarartri in Aries in the equinoctial house is not a co-incidence.

Whether all this is a mythological imagination and philosophical mythical poetry with musical fine tuning in Hindola and Mohana Ragas or does it has any logical and scientific basis. Yes it has the whole world of evidence with logical and scientific Himalayan Mecanna as its foundation. The Vedic statements have direct evidence from the self experiences of Vedic Seers and

Saints which is self oriented and beyond modern science; logical proof dependent on the Shadangas and their knowledge of sound and sky, the statistical and predictable evidences from astronomy / astrology and the theoritical and analytical statistical deductions of modern science. Out of the above four the astronomical evidence is presented here. Effect of Moon: The Moon is supposed to be the gateway into the visible universe i.e. wakend state, from dormency. This is stated at various places in different ways such as, Mana Yeva Manusyhanam Bandha Moksha Karanam, Kamastadagre Samavarthadhi Manaso Retaha, Chandrama Manaso Jataha, Yato Vacho Nivarthante Aprapya Manasa Saha, Soma Putra Purogascha Mahanadyo, indicating that the mind is a wave. It is a cosmic wave of divine force; psycological wave of living beings and mechanical wave of matter. So besides the light and sound waves the matter waves are controled by different planets and the water waves are controled by Moon in their enterity. The Moons planetery Mantra is Apyayaswa Samethute, and its Adhi Devatha Mantra is Apsume Somo Abradantarviswani.....further stating that Moon controls all the liquids, all lakes, rivers and seas. When Moon is in conjunction with benefic planets it is a positive wave and when involved with malefic planets it is disastrous both to self and to environment. The strength of the wave is at its maximum on Full Moon and New Moon days while it is minimum on the middle days i.e Saptami and Astami. So to all the significant events and accidents of human life and environmental disasters in general and water disasters in particular Moon is linked which can be evidenced in the present and recent disastrous cyclones of the world from 2004 to 2006. Out of the 188 cyclones presented here, around 64 are significant in terms of destruction and fatalities. Out of them 19 occured on Purnima and 23 on Amavasya while 44 involve Full Moon and another 45 involve New Moon, though the disastrous rain fall was on other days. So 47.3% of the cyclones are linked to Purnima or Amavasya. If the pinultimate or succeeding days are also considered it goes to 59%. Varahamihira in his Bruhatsamhita divided the stars of ecliptic into 4 groups in ralation to disasters such as earth quakes. They are Vayu (air), Agni,(fire),Varuna (water) and Indra. As the cyclones involve air and water when this theory is applied, the total constellations involved are as follows. Vayu=254,Varuna=115, Agni =159 and Indra= 39 and Vayu plus Varuna is 369 and the remaining is 198. So the Vayu and Varuna are of 65% as aginst the expected percentage of 52.85. When more air constellations are involved the disaster is mainly due to wind and when the water constellations are involved the danger is mainly from cyclone followed by floods. As indicated in our previous paper (Indian Astronomical calculations 2: Inheretance of Planets) in the discussion of the disasters of the years 2005 and 2006, the main astronomical positions for the high rate of destruction are the angular positions of Rahu and Saturn in Aries and Pisces in 2004, trine positions of Rahu and Saturn with Kuja stambhana in angular position to Saturn in Aries and trine positions of Rahu and Saturn in water houses i.e Pisces and Cancer in 2006. When there were critical conjunctions of Sun, Mars and Moon involving Rahu and Saturn the disasters occured. The iniation of the disaster is mainly by the Moon and the degree of disaster is praportional to Moon and number of malefics involved. Without the conjunction or association of Moon with at least any one of the malefics or Sun the disaster is very rare. The above mentioned combinations, which are not seen in the last hundred years is the reason for the combined occurence of the fatal disasters such as Indonesia tsunami, and cyclones of Takage of Japan,Charley of Jamaica,Francis of U.S.A., Rananin and Chanchu of China in 2004, Dennis, Katrina,Wilma,Rita and Emily of U.S.A. in 2005 and disastrous cyclones of Bengal and Andhra Predesh in 2006. One should not fail to observe the correlation between the deaths in disasters and the involvement of Saturn with the other

malefics. The scientists attributed the increase of the disasters to the Pollution. The co-ordinated understanding between the human behaviour leading to pollution and the relative astronomical positions of different planets in heavens is beyond the present day science. The involvement of Moon, water houses, air and water constellations in the cyclones indicate that the incidents and accidents of our planet are linked with the ecliptic and cosmos. The link of horoscopes of the involved persons in the disaster like the lock and key mechanism is the final solution to the jig-saw puzzle of individual deaths. This is the concept of Vedic Rituals, seen in extending the law of cause and action, besides the mechanical world to the super natural or divine level--Parasparam Bhavayantaha Sreyaha Paramavapyasdha. The recent theoritical four dimentiolal space time continuam of Einsteins relativity is experienced practically as the Monistic continuous divinity with the space, time and cosmos as its unseperable components by the Vedic Sages in the long past in India. This is regularly remembered every day in all rituals in the begening as Samkalpaand at the end as Mantra Pushpam Apova--Agnirva--Vayurva--Nakshatraniva--Samvatsarova-- Yopam Ayatanam Veda Ayatanavan Bhavathi.
