The United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) is the official currency of Dubai. It is divided into 100 fils. Notes are available in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 dirhams. Coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 fils and 1 dirham, though coins below 25 fils are rarely used. The dirham has been pegged to the US dollar at a rate of 1 AED = $0.2725 since 1980. Banks and exchange offices in Dubai facilitate currency exchange and conversions.

Dubai Currency

United Arab Emirate Dirham (AED), as it's termed in the international market. One Dirham is equal to 100 Fils. Dubai as well UAE Currency is AED which is the Currency in Dubai is the UAE Dirham (Dh), or the he official name of the Currency. Dubai currency notes are available in denominations of 5,10,20,50,100,200,500 and 1000 Dirhams. Dirham Coins
Coins were introduced in the the UAE Market in 1973.Coins are available in denominations of 1,5,10,25 and 50 fils and 1 Dirham. However, coins with a denomination below 25 fils have become valueless in the market and are rarely used.
