Colilert*
Colilert, which simultaneously detects coliforms and E. coli, is a global leader in coliform and E. coli tests, with dozens of regulatory approvals worldwide. Samples turn yellow when coliforms are present, and fluoresce to indicate the presence of E. coli. Defined Substrate Technology*

Defined Substrate Technology* (DST*) is the foundation for IDEXXs coliform, Escherichia coli and enterococci tests. Our coliform/E. coli reagents simultaneously detect coliforms and E. coli through the activity of the enzymes beta-galactosidase and beta-glucuronidase respectively. Enzyme-specific nutrient indicators produce the definitive, easy-to-read endpoints that are characteristic of our tests. For example, in Colilert*, ONPG turns yellow when metabolized by coliforms and MUG fluoresces under UV light when metabolized by E. coli. DST tests can produce presence/absence or quantitative results. Sensitive to 1 organism/100 mL, these tests require no media preparation, no filtering and no confirmationsand they take less than 1 minute of hands-on time.

Enterococci Testing

Enterolert*
Enterolert is a rapid test for the detection and quantification of enterococci in water. Positive results fluoresce under UV light.

Enterolert*-E
Enterolert-E is an easy, rapid and accurate method for the detection of enterococci in water that provides quantifiable overnight results. Enterolert-E has been developed to correlate with the European Reference Method, ISO 7899-2.

Enterolert*-DW
Enterolert-DW accurately detects enterococci in drinking water in 24 hours. A color change from blue to green indicates a positive result, eliminating the subjective interpretation of traditional test methods. Enterolert-DW is suitable for both chlorinated and nonchlorinated drinking water.

Quanti-Tray Technology
Quanti-Tray is an innovative advance in bacterial enumeration. When used with IDEXX reagents, Quanti-Tray provides an automatic sample-handling system to produce bacterial counts with membrane filtration accuracy for total coliforms, E. coli and enterococci. Quanti-Tray eliminates subjective colony interpretation and time-consuming confirmation. Multiple Enzyme Technology*

Multiple Enzyme Technology* (MET*) is the base for IDEXXs SimPlate tests to detect heterotrophic plate count (HPC) bacteria in water. Reagents contain multiple unique enzyme-substrates, each targeting a different bacterial enzyme. The most common enzymes of waterborne bacteria are all targeted. All of the enzyme-substrates produce the same signal when metabolized. Therefore, a given waterborne bacteria will be able to metabolize one or more enzymesubstrates and produce a signal. In SimPlate, the signal is fluorescence under 365 nm UV light. The number of wells that fluoresce is converted to a Most Probable Number (MPN) using the table provided with the product. The number of wells results in a very high counting range and precise 95% confidence limits.

Filta-Max xpress* offers a fully automated elution station that will process your samples in less than two minutes. The filter module is constructed of 79 reticulated foam discs, some with a diameter of 5.5 cm and others with a diameter of 4.0 cm, stacked alternately. Filta-Max xpress uses air pressure to force a specially designed elution buffer through the filter.
