The Vocation Services application deadline for 2013 is March 31, 2013. All certifications are provided through Tarrant County College. Certification programs have been preselected for their anticipated employment outlook and probability to provide a living wage therefore assistance will only be provided in the following programs:

ARCHITECTURE Architectural CAD Operator Program topics include: Drawing procedures and practices for residential / light frame and commercial construction Material effect of construction and architectural design Computer aided drafting and fundamentals of computer graphics AUTOMOTIVE Programs prepare individuals for entry-level work in the automotive collision repair field Automotive Metal Repair Technician Program topics include: Basic and minor metal repair Structural and damage repair Auto body mechanical and electrical service Automotive Refinishing Technician Program topics include: Basic, intermediate, advanced refinishing Specialized topics in automotive body repair Automotive Engine Analysis Technician Program topics include: Brakes and wheel service Electrical systems Alternative fuels Auto engine performance analysis Automotive Heavy Line Technician Program topics include: Manual drive trains Axles Automatic transmission and transaxles Engine repair Heating and air conditioning Suspension and steering Small Engine Repair Technician Courses include: Motorcycle, outboard and lawn mower service principles Electrical systems and service principles for small engines Special small engine repair project
BUSINESS Small Business Management Program prepares individuals for starting a new business venture or managing a small firm. Program includes: Planning, organizing, staffing, and controlling operations. Budgeting, record keeping, taxation, insurance, and banking. Marketing, advertising and sales production Business Computer Applications DIETETIC TECHNICIAN Dietary Manager Program prepares individuals with on the job training for supervisory position in health care food service. Course topics include: Food service management and nutrition planning Preparing and serving food ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY *Required Prerequisites: MATH 0304 or a score on the TCC math placement test high enough to enter MATH 0350 or higher. Program provides the advanced knowledge and skills needed by electronics technicians. *Computer Maintenance Technology Provides entry-level skills to install, maintain and repair computers. Program topics include: Networks, transformers, resonance, phasors, capacitive and inductive and circuit analysis techniques. Soldering techniques, hand tools, circuit fabrication techniques, troubleshooting and circuit analysis using Mathcad. Recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. *Electronics Technology Provides entry-level skills for production, operation, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. A study of various semiconductor devices incorporated in circuits and their applications. Emphasis on circuit construction, measurements, and analysis.

Mathematical and scientific principles to the solution of practical problems for the benefit of society. *Mechatronics Technician Provides entry-level skills to fabricate, test, install, operate and maintain automated equipment. Application of principles and the calculation of practical problems involving four bar linkages, cams, gears, and gear trains. *Oil and Gas Production Technology Provides entry-level skills for new and emerging career opportunities in the oil and gas industries OSHA 30 Land / Water and HAZWOPER Certificate. HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION TECHNOLOGY Installation Technician Provides entry-level skills to install both commercial and residential air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units. Service Technician Provides entry-level skills for service and repair of both commercial and residential air conditioning, heating and refrigeration units. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Database Programming Provides entry-level programming skills INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT Information Technology Support Provides entry-level skills to provide information technology support. Courses include: PC Operating System Support Security Implementing & Supporting Client Systems Personal Computer hardware Cisco Support Program provides an understanding operation of small and large LAN networks and wireless networks. Capstone for program is Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) examination.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY TECHNICIAN Provides entry-level skills to build and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. TEACHER ASSISTANT The Teacher's Assistant Certificate Program is designed for teacher assistants currently working or planning to work in a private or public school setting. Teacher Assistant Courses provide a foundation in child development and teaching strategies. Bilingual Teaching Assistant Courses provide a foundation in child development and teaching strategies. * Preferred Prerequisites: Intermediate Spanish I (SPAN-2311) or a score on the TCC CLEP exam high enough to enter SPAN 2312. WELDING TECHNOLOGY Welding technology involves binding products that contain metal to build automobiles, airplanes, pipelines, railroads, bridges, building structures, heavy machinery and various manufacturing products. Welding Basic Provides entry-level skills for welding power sources, electrode selection, oxy-fuel cutting, and various joint designs. Welding Advance Provides advanced skills for welding (including pipe using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process)
