Ran away
~ * Dont give up your true love. There is always hope * ~ Oh, I wish I could live in that castle... Many long years ago, in a small village next to the castle of Kyrgyzstan lived a shy girl named Hansol. Her black and long hair was always braided and was resting on one side of her shoulder. Hansols mother was nice and caring, but she always obeyed her lazy, wrinkled husband, Benoit. Though he was caring in the deep side, he never ever showed love to his daughter, so Hansol didn't like her grumpy father as much. Hansol's family was not rich, nor
poor, and because they lived in the high area of the mountains, it was pretty cold around their house. Her family's job was to grow vegetables, and to deliver them to the kings castle. Delivering was always Hansol's job, because her mother, secretly, wanted to give Hansol chances to meet Prince Rustum. The prince was very kind and was different from other princes. He was tall and handsome, but he never bragged, or showed off. He was always smiling, and was trusted by his subordinates. Sometimes, the prince invited Hansol to stay with him to have a tea break together, and so, she stayed. Secretly, she admired the prince, though she knew that there will not be any chances of being with the prince. But every evening, while gazing the castle, Hansol would imagine herself wearing a white wedding dress and a shkl, a traditional hat, on. She would hold the princes hand, and hug him as tight as she can; though all those were only her imagination. One day, when Hansol was eating oromo with the prince and his maids, the prince whispered in her ear, Do you want to go out to the garden? Hansol blushed, and nodded while gulping the food down. Silently, the two escaped from the boring tea break. When they reached the garden, they looked at each other, and bursted out laughing. Hansol and the prince sat on the stairs after both of them finally caught their breath. The two started talking about their families and futures. When they evantually came to the point of marriage, Hansol looked down at the tiles. She didnt want to imagine the prince being with a different lady.
Then the prince made a joke, not a funny one, Hey, Hansol, maybe we should marry. Haha, Hansol sighed and started staring at the bumpy tiles, again. However, this time it felt different. She was the one staring at the tiles, but she felt someone staring at her, and she realized that it was the prince. He looked serious. Hansol blushed with confusion. Why is he staring at me? Do I have anything on my face? she wondered. Hansol, Im not joking, he started off, Ive seen you and talked with you a lot. I even know your brightest smile that I want no other man to see. Hansol, please, will you please marry me?
Hansol pulled her tears back and said, I smile like that only in front of you. Shyly, Hansol sat even closer to the prince. The next day, the two went to each others family to get approval to marry. The responses were depressing. The princes mother, who is the queen, did not want to accept their marriage, because Hansol was in a different society rank. Hansols dad did not accept it, because, well, he just didnt want to. But the actual reason is because Benoit himself didnt want to let go of his only child. Hansols mother fully accepted the prince and the marriage, but of course, she had to obey her husband. The prince and Hansol didnt have any other option, and they knew what each other were thinking, we have to ran away.
They both took as much foods and blankets as possible, and set off to the forests. In the beginning they both had enough to last several days. After those days, they both run out of things to eat, and though they were both thin from the beginning, they became as skinny as a pencil. Hansol begun to feel guilty, for she had left her mother behind without telling her where she was going.
One cold morning, when Prince Rustum woke up, he heard a familiar sound; the sound which a metal armor would make. He thought he was lying on his own silk bed, but suddenly he realized that he was in the gloomy forest.
Hansol! Hansol, wake up!! the prince shouted to Hansol as raucous as he could.
What is it?? Sleepy Hansol rubbed her eyes.
Look! There they are! one of the soldiers shouted to the other.
Hansols eyes flashed open, and she turned around to find Prince Rustum nod deeply at her.
My mom probably sent the soldiers to find me. We have to ran away, Prince Rustum gabbed Hansols arm, and ran down the hills. Hansol shoved away the leafs and branches from her face,
but she did get some cuts. As she tried to wipe the blood streaking down her face while running as fast as they can, Hansol twisted her ankle, because she got a bit carried away with wiping her face. They both knew that it was impossible to escape from the soldiers, for Hansol had twisted her ankle, but they couldnt give up just yet. Prince! Prince Rustum, please wait! the soldiers shouted at them. Hansol, I think its time, though Prince Rustum was panting, his voice sounded calm. Hansol could see his eyes forming a puddle of tears. Im so sorry. If I didnt twist my ankle; if I didnt bother to wipe my face, Hansol covered her face and began to bawl. Its not your fault, Hansol, the prince put his arm around her shoulder, and stayed there until the soldiers finally reached them. As the two walked closer to the castle, they held each others hand tighter. Hansol's parents and the Queen were waiting for the two in the huge hall. They all looked relieved for a moment when Hansol and Prince Rustum stepped into the cold, marble hall, but turned serious afterwards. "Why did you guys do this kind of stupid thing? Please don't make
me waste my time looking for you two," the Queen glared at Hansol. "Why do you always sound like you're pushing me away? Do you not care about me?" the prince sounded like he had no hope anymore. "Don't be such a cry baby. I do care about you, and that is why I don't want to let you marry this young lady. Ever since the King has died, I knew that my only job left was to raise you to be the most beloved King of the country. That's why I didn't want to let you two marry each other, because there is a difference in the society rank," the Queen just sighed and smiled slightly at the prince. "You shouldve told me about what you were thinking," Prince Rustum shifted his wait from once leg to the other as he turned away from the Queen. "Hansol, my dear, you have done nothing wrong, and I must apologize of what I have done to you. I will fully accept the marriage of you. Now it is all going to depend on what your parents will say, Hansol," the three's face turned to look at Hansol's parents. "Well, Hansol. I just want you to know that there weren't a single day that I didn't think about or forgot about you. You know, I just didn't know how to tell and show you how I felt. I didn't want to let you marry a man until you, in some way, prove that he cares about you," Benoit looked back at Prince Rustum. He then said, "I know see that you, young man, actually love my daughter, and that the two can go through any disaster," Benoit stood up from
the chair, walked towards Hansol, and hugged her tightly. Hansol had joined the big hug, and tears ran down their cheeks. Hansol and Prince Rustum decided that they would throw their wedding party in the castle, for that was Hansols dream ever since she had met the prince. Now, let me describe what had happened during the party which made all the guests go melting saying, Awww. Hansol, now the princess, looked up at the prince as he lifted the veil up. He stared at her for a while and smiled. Putting his hand on Hansols shoulder, he leaned forward to kiss her red lips. She closed her eyes, and waited for him. Hansol opened her eyes little by little, and hugged him tightly. Prince Rustum and Hansol became the most beloved King and Queen of the country, and lived happily ever after.
