Pre operative instructions
o Get Blood sugar and blood pressure checked before booking in for surgery o Take care that there is no discharge or redness from the eye to be operated o Make sure that your other medical conditions are controlled with medications o Take your medications regularly including on the day of surgery
Day of Surgery
Take bath including head bath with soap and water Wear neat clean clothes Take your regular medications before presenting for operation Eat light breakfast/meal
Take following medications before reporting for surgery Ciplox 500mg one tablet Diamox 500 mg one tablet Aflox (3 times) every hour 3 hours before surgery Report to the attending doctor/staff if you are feeling unwell/feeling of vomiting/or any other problem.
Post-operative Care
Return for post -operative follow up after one day Use Eye drops and /or oral medications as directed by the surgeon Continue with other medications like for diabetes/blood pressure or any other as advised Take rest for 3 days whereby one could walk to the toilet Eat light Dont sleep on the operated side for 2 weeks Dont rub the operated eye Dont take head bath for a week Prefer to wear dark glasses to avoid glare and also to protect oneself from any accidental injury Contact doctor in case of pain/increasing redness/vision problem. Preoperative Instructions
Visit your eye surgeon for options available. Let your eye surgeon know about your medical conditions and how well are they controlled Use antibiotic drops and tablets a day before surgery On the day of surgery take care that you have taken bath and specifically washed your face with soap and water Dont use any eye makeup including Kajal/eye liner on the day of surgery Dont eat heavy a night before surgery Take your regular medications if any and light breakfast before you arrive for surgery
