Birth of IBM
IBM , acronym for International Business Machines , is a multinational computer technology corporation headquartered in Armonk, New York ,USA . IBM was founded in 1911 in New York City , originally called Computing tabulating Recording (CTR) and changed to International Business Machines in 1924. IBM began as a manufacturing companies setup tables near Herman Hollerith, in Broome county ,New York June 16, 1911, IBM merged into Computing tabulating Recording Corporation (CTB) and was registered on the basis of the New York Stock Exchange in 1916 . IBM used the current name when it became one of the 500 companies in the Fortune 500 rankings.

IBM is the manufacture and sale of hardware , computer software , infrastructure, servers and consulting services in many areas of technology from the mainframe to the slave-na . The IBM Personal Computer, commonly known as the IBM PC, is the original version and progenitor of the IBM PC compatible hardware platform. It is IBM model number 5150, and was introduced on August 12, 1981. It was created by a team of engineers and designers under the direction of Don Estridge of the IBM Entry Systems Division in Boca Raton, Florida. In July of 1980, IBM representatives met for the first time with Microsoft's Bill Gates to talk about writing an operating system for IBM's new hush-hush "personal" computer.
On August 12, 1981, at a press conference at the Waldorf Astoria ballroom in New York City, Estridge announced the IBM Personal Computer with a price tag of $1,565. Two

decades earlier, an IBM computer often cost as much as $9 million and required an airconditioned quarter-acre of space and a staff of 60 people to keep it fully loaded with instructions.

1981
IN AUGUST the IBM Personal Computer a different type computer with a whole new image and ready to make computing a democratic process, along with DOS 1.0, a breakthrough in operating systems.
1983
In January the IBM PC is announced worldwide. In November PCjr the first IBM computer designed and priced specifically for the home, weighing in at less than nine pounds.
1984
In February Portable Personal Computer a 30-pounder that can travel where the work is and DOS 2.1.
1990
In December New in the Independence Series THINKable a multimedia software program for the PS/2 that can help therapists treat those suffering from injury or disability.
1991
