Hi! Im Ms. Borden, thank you so much for being here today! I hope this is self explanatory but if you have any questions make sure to contact another first grade teacher and they should be able to help with anything that is unclear. I have a really great class and I know youll have a great day!

Emergency Sub Plans for Ms. Borden room 46 8:35 Pick up students on dot 46. Bring students back to classroom, take attendance, drop off backpacks and head to breakfast. 8:45-9:00 Breakfast in the cafeteria. Take students to lunch room with their breakfast cards to eat. 9:00 Bathroom Break 9:10-11:05 Reading and Writing: Please read aloud Riley the Rhino and have them fill out the story map for the story after discussing it whole group. Allow about 15-20 minutes for them to complete on their own or with partners. Next, please follow morning centers. 1. Library 2. Sight word sheet 3. Word work boxes 4. Journal/Writing 5. File folder games Allow the children about 10-12 minutes at each rotation. Allow 1 minute for clean-up, and switch centers. They go in numerical order and they should be able to tell you which center comes next. 11:05 Pass out lunch cards, line up for lunch and walk them out the pod to the playground 11:10-11:43 Lunch 11:43 Pick up students in the cafeteria and return to classroom 11:50-12:05 If needed, finish morning center rotations. If completed move on to math centers. 12:05- 1:15 Math centers: 1. Patterns 2. Worksheet 3. Get to 20 4. Ice tray addition 5. Sorting Start in order. These centers are done at their seats and they are to rotate in numerical order. 1:15-1:24 Bathroom Break 1:24-2:14 Specials: O Monday-P.E. O Tuesday: Art O Wednesday: Library O Thursday: Music O Friday: P.E. 2:14-3:00 Acceleration/Intervention/Science/Social Studies- Please ask a 1st grade teacher where we are with science/social studies. 3:00 Pack up; Stack up, Clean-up, and Share good things 3:11 Dismissal: Please walk the students out to dot 46 and line them up. Wait for parents on the dot until 3:20. If you have left overs please walk them out the front gate and to the office. Please stay with student until someone knows they are in the office (Ms. Michele or Office Manager) *NOTE: Please make sure you see the parent or older sibling and give your students a high five when saying goodbye.

Read Well Materials. All materials are in the orange box.

Please follow the Teacher manuals as best as possible, they should help make the lesson go smoothly

Students have a chart in the front of the room labeled with their names. They have the choices of going to yellow first, orange, and then red. If they end up on orange or red, please write to the parent making them aware of the issue. Students fill out their behavior sheet at the end of each day. If the students are on anything but green, please initial to ensure they are being honest.

If the student is being completely out of control and refusing to follow instructions please call the office and write a referral for a behavior meeting with the student and the principal.

Upon entering the room students should move their numbers from absent to here on the filing cabinet. Their numbers are on their name tags, and also on the roster. You may also go by breakfast cards. If the students breakfast card has not been picked up by the time you are exiting the classroom please take them with you for the tardy students.

Breakfast
Please have the students get their breakfast cards and line up. Say the pledge in line. Walk the students through the hallway to the cafeteria, being sure to stay on the right side of the hall. They should go through the breakfast line and meet you at the tables. Sit them 7 to a table. When finished have them pack up all food and throw it away. Nothing can come back to the classroom.

2. Lock door 3. Hang green All students here sign in the door window. 4. Place a large piece of masking tape on the window. If a real shelter in place tape off the entire door. 5. Continue instruction.

Shelter in place . Locate any stray children in pod

AKA Hard lock down 1. Pull in any stray students from the pod 2. Lock the door. 3. Move students out of sight from the window. 4. Continue instruction

Zero voices, 1 paper towel, 1 pump of soap, 3 girls, 3 boys at a time.

Students may get water as long as you are not talking, and there is no other student up at the fountain.

None.

Line up chant, hands should be in their pockets or around their body, bubbles/zero voices. To get students attention: Teacher says Hocus Pocus Students say: Everybody Focus. Getting Attention: Teacher: Hands on top Students: Everybody stop.

Only if the student is throwing up. There are Band-Aids in the top drawer.

Carpet time: Students are Criss-Cross, hands in their laps, voices are off.

Centers: Rotate in numerical order, 5 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc.
