We are looking to fill the following positions( READ the description of
responsibilities below)
Editor in Chief
Editorial Heads: ( Articles, Poetry, Short Story, Perspectives, Health and Body
)
Editorial Staff
Post Secret Coordinator
Survey Coordinator
Publicity Coordinator
College Reps
Event Coordinator
Business Manager
Business team
Design Editor
Design Team
Photography Editor
Photographers
Editor in Chief: Coordinates all of the following positions, directs the general
mission of the magazine. Applies for grants for magazine
Editorial Heads: Articles, Poetry, Short Story, Perspectives, Health and Body:
Solicits content for their sections via personal/ email contact, conduct
interviews when applicable, edit content with coeditors and the submitters,
copy edit their section, attend editorial meetings
Editorial Staff: Assists Editorial Heads as coeditors (groups work with one
head per section)
News Briefs Coordinator: Keeps up to date with important developments
(cultural, science, social, political, art etc..) in regard to sex and society and
tabulates them in a 2 page spread
Post Secret Coordinator: Advertises, solicits, organizes, selects post secrets
from colleges
Survey Coordinator: Creates survey (updates questions) advertises survey,
secures prize, analyses data and creates 2 page survey spread
Publicity Coordinator: Manages college reps, aids Survey/ Post Secret/
Editorial/ Event board in getting word out on Open related happenings. Also,
helps editorial board by contacting relevant professors/ classes/ clubs/
organizations for Open content solicitation
Event Coordinator: Manages and runs Sex Trivia night, Launch Party and
movie screenings and any other programming
College Reps: Send announcements to list serves, post flyers
Business Manager: Updates Media Kit and contacts businesses to sell ads(
big job!). Serves as treasurer and manages club account
Business team: Assists Business Manager
Design Editor: Uses InDesign to create magazine given content and photos.
Design Team: Assists Design Editor
Photography Editor: Works with Editorial Board/ Editor in Chief to do photo
assignments for content and free-standing photos. Manages and recruits
models and organized shoots with photographers. Uses Photoshop to edit
photos
Photographers: Assists photography editor- take photos

experience ( Ex. Photography: photography class at Rice, photo enthusiast/
hobby… Editorial Board: Thresher staff) Experience is certainly not necessary
though, but it is good for us to know.
