MTech admissions in Biomedical engineering The MTech Biomedical Engineering programme at IITH envisages an integration of engineering and the life sciences towards innovative development in Biomedical engineering through research and education. This 2-year programme is offered to students qualifying GATE Students undergo an intensive course and laboratory work for two semesters followed by a research project for next two semesters. The programme incorporates in students, a sound knowledge of their specialized areas and equips them with the potential to innovate and solve challenging problems in medical technologies and facilitate translation of technology to clinical health care. Eligibility Criteria First class or 60 % marks (55 % for SC/ST reserved catagories) in i) BTech/BE (or equivalent 4 year programme) in Bioengineering, Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical, Electrical and Computer, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Metallurgy and Material Science or ii) MSc or equivalents (2 years) in Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics, Ceramics, Electronics, Computer Science, Materials Science, Physiology or iii) MBBS, BDS or equivalent programme with duration of 4 years or more (eg. B.P.Th, B.O.Th) or iv) MPharm/ BPharm, BVSc (programme with duration 4 years and above) Applicants should have cleared GATE (for engineering and science graduates in their respective disciplines). For candidates with their degrees in Medical Science need to clear AIIMS / All India MCI/JIPMER/PGI Chandigarh/AFMC Pune/DNB Part I national level medical postgraduate entrance examinations or GATE Life Sciences examination for medical and biological sciences, and All India level pre-MDS/ MVSc selection examination for BVSc, BDS & B.Pharm candidates. Eligibility / rank certificates are required for all such entrance examinations.

General Information Financial support (i.e., assistantship or scholarship) will be provided to all Indian students enrolled with a valid GATE score.
