Taheebo Tea

Taheebo Tea is made by simmering shredded Taheebo bark in water for 10 minutes, then steeping it for another 10 minutes. The tea is known for boosting the immune system and helping avoid colds and flus when drinking a quart per day. It is reported to be far more effective than Echinacea for strengthening the immune system with few to no side effects.

Taheebo Tea

Bring 6 quarts water to low boil. Add cup bulk Taheebo Tea Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Let set for 10 minutes. Strain into quart jars. Add honey to taste (a tablespoon or two) if you prefer.

Taheebo Tea (otherwise known as Pau d Arco) is simply shredded bark from the tree of the same name. Available at most healthfood stores either in bulk, capsules, or tea bags. The above bulk recipe is calculated on a basis of 1 tsp loose bark per 8 oz water. Taheebo is known best for its apparent boosting of the immune system. It has few side effects, if any. Personally I have avoided many a cold and flu by drinking about a quart a day of this tea. It is a hundred times more effective than Echinacea. I highly recommend it.
