You must have already completed with a C or better:
At least one of:
COP 2210 (Computer Programming I) COP 2250 (Programming in Java)

AND ENC 3213 (Professional & Technical Writing)

Grading

Attendance
Mandatory Sign in on clipboard at beginning of each class or fill out presentation evaluation forms during class More than 5 absences = F; otherwise all absences (after the first) reduce attendance grade proportionally Chronic tardiness will drop your grade Be here mentally as well as physically

Lectures
Brief from book chapters and other sources Starting points for topic exploration Discussion encouraged & graded PowerPoints available in Moodle Quizzes administered randomly only if needed

Discussion Forums
Required participation in 3 topic forums:
Make original posts & replies within time limits

Graded on quantity & quality


Not I think or I feel find quality articles to back up your statements and reference them You must rank all posts except your own Must give quality replies to at least three posts by others for full credit

Forums are scored individually dont skip any!


Overall approximate forum scoring:
12+ = 100%, 9-11 = 90%, 7-9 = 85%, 6 = 75%, 4-5 = 70%, 3 = 60%, 1-2 = 50%

Research Papers
You propose a topic that enables ethical, social, and legal analysis from a global perspective 8 pages double-spaced, not including title, abstract, figures, reference list Format template provided with full instructions Two stages Outline and References; Final Version Plagiarism = F (see syllabus for penalties)

Research Presentations
Based on your research topic 10 minutes enforced! Will post to YouTube Will review a subset of presentations Best of presentations will be shown in class for all to see & review.

Group Project
Based on your research topic Groups of 4 to 6 to be assigned Each group member will review every other group members participation every week Will combine individual research topics to produce educational material on a larger topic area Will create a website that disseminates that educational material Will make a 20 minute presentation in class on that topic. Each group member must be present and must participation in that presentation. Everyone in class will review every other groups presentation.
