Act 3, scene 1
Main Action of the scene Banquo opens the scene by saying that he thinks its weird how what the three weird sisters said about Macbeth came true, but Banquo thinks that Macbeth has done some bad things to make it come true. Macbeth is starting to show fear that Banquos own ambitions. Macbeth becomes super angry because the feels that he killed Duncan for Banquos sons(he did all the dirty work and they get all the reward)
Act 3, scene 2
Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are starting to feel that it was a bad idea killing King Duncan because it didnt bring them the happiness that she was expecting. Macbeth is planning on killing Banquo, so he tells his wife to be especially nice to Banquo at dinner. This is showing that Macbeth is pulling away from Lady Macbeth.
Act3, Scene 3
The scene opens with Macbeth Macbeth pays three poor men to go kill Banquo, and when they do Macbeth starts to see his ghost, and freaks out which makes everyone suspicious of him, because they havent even been told Banquo has been killed yet.
Act 3, Scene 4
Macbeth and the first murderer are talking about if they killed Banquo and fleance like he asked, but the murder told him that fleance escaped. Then when Macbeth returns to his banquet, he starts to freak out and yell at nothing ( but really he is yelling at Banquo's ghost)He is screaming at the ghost but he doesnt realize that no one else can see him. Lady Macbeth tries to cover up Macbeth's freak out by saying hes had this since he was a kid, all the lords start to feel that Macbeth looks suspicious.
Act 3, Scene 5
This scene opens with the three witches and Hecate. Hecate is mad at the three witches because they didn't include her in their original plan to mess with Macbeth. Hecate says that she should trick Macbeth into thinking that he is safe by making him over confident and by making him behave in risky ways.
Act 3, Scene 6
Lennox is talking to another lord about how he thinks Macbeth is starting to look guilty which seems dangerous and evil. The other lord mentions to Lennox that Macduff has left Scotland for England, he also mentions that Scotland isnt doing well and is going downhill. Also the lords are ready to rebel against Macbeth, and support Malcom their rightful heir to the thrown.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth and Macbeths relationship changed drastically over the series of events in the book. In the beginning they worked together as a team. After Macbeth killed King Duncan and Banquo their relationship grew further and further apart because of the stress that they were both put under. Macbeth started to feel guilty about what he had done right away, but Lady Macbeth didnt until it really started to effect Macbeth. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth are both fearing for their lives, now after everyone is starting to get suspicious of their killings.
