Topic : Disease

Definition: Disease is a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury. What we call a disease is our bodys reaction to something that interferes with its normal functioning. An organ remains ill, and is eventually destroyed, as long as the source of interference is not removed. A malfunctioning organ can negatively influence other organs and systems (circulatory, nervous, lymphatic) cooperating with it. What we call a disease is the defensive reaction of our bodys mechanisms designed to maintain us healthy. We all have these mechanisms. They are necessary to remove disorders in the way our body functions. They also give us warning signals when these disorders begin. To stay healthy, we need to listen and understand what our body is trying to communicate to us. Do not treat diseases as your worst enemy. In a sense, they force us to make the first step on the way towards a healthy lifestyle.

Main Causes of Disease

There are five main causes of disease or dysfunction in the body. Some of them get a lot more of our attention than others, but they are all of great importance. Traumas These are the injuries and accidents that occur from time to time. Poor Nutrition This is an often overlooked cause of dysfunction in the body. Lack of eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, essential fats, and healthy sources of protein (such as seafood, poultry, and grass-fed meat) can significantly cause the diseases. Lack of Sleep Deprive from the sleep also cause the disease. Mental Stress Most of us have at one point or another felt the physical effects of stress. Whether it is tightness in the shoulders, an upset stomach, or increased blood pressure, we can all agree that our mental attitude affects our physical well-being.. Viruses, Parasites, and Bacteria These are the microorganisms that receive most of the blame as the cause of disease.

Type:
There are two type of disease: 1. Communicable disease: Communicable disease is a medical condition or disease, which by definition is non-infectious and non-transmissible among people. Communicable diseases can be passed from one person to person to another. Such diseases may be passed through common contact example like, colds or the flu. AIDS and hepatitis may only be passed through sexual contact or sharing of infected hypodermic needles. 2. Non communicable disease: Non- communicable disease is a medical condition or disease, which by definition is infectious and transmissible among people. Non-communicable diseases are not usually passed from one person to another. Such disease however may be genetic or environmentally caused, or in some cases by lifestyle choices, example like, smoking and diabetes.
