Vienna, seeing how authentic Apfelstrudel is made and taking a real Viennese waltz lesson with an Austrian dance champion. Its exploring Austrias elegant cities with locals who live there and know Austrias secrets. And its mixing Austrias classical music at an evening concert, and seeing Mozarts birthplace, with visits to sights made famous by The Sound of Music.

Day 1 | Saturday | Fly to Vienna Today you take your overnight ight to Vienna. Day 2 | Sunday | Arrive Vienna (4 nights) Arriving in Vienna, Austrias capital, you check into your hotel, before having free time to relax or explore. You could head to one of the citys famous cafs for a little Viennese treat. In the evening, you join us for a drive around the city, taking in views of the famous Opera House before you enjoy dinner and drinks while getting to know your Travel Director and fellow guests at our Welcome Reception. (WR) Hotel: Hilton Vienna Danube | Austria Trend Hotel Ananas Wien Day 3 | Monday | Vienna Sightseeing and Concert Seeing the city through the eyes of our A Local Expert, who lives there, the sights and secrets of Vienna are revealed this morning. Your Local Expert takes you to see Hofburg Palace and Parliament, and views of the Opera House from the Imperial Boulevards, before you visit St Stephens Cathedral and take a stroll through the oldest parts of the city, near Am Hof. After a free afternoon, with complementary tickets to the House of Music museum to enjoy at your leisure, everyone meets for a typical Viennese dinner and classical music concert. (BB, RM) .

Day 4 | Tuesday | Vienna Sightseeing and Free Time With VIP entry into the magnicent Museum of Fine Arts, before its open to the general public, we are taken inside to discover the treasures assembled by the Habsburgs and the equally beautiful architecture that houses them, with a private tour by one of the curators. Then we head to the famous Spanish Riding School, for a A Unique Insight to see the balletic horses, behind the scenes in their stables, and learn of the schools 440 year history. This afternoon, we visit one of the most famous cafs in Vienna, Hofzuckerbckerei Demel which once made pastries and chocolate for the imperial and royal court of Austria-Hungary. Sampling pastries is just one A Local Speciality you experience today as you also have a Viennese Waltzing lesson with an Austrian champion dancer and star of the countrys Dancing with the Stars. You have a free evening to visit one of the citys ne restaurants and perhaps try traditional schnitzel. (BB) Day 5 | Wednesday | Schnbrunn Palace and Free Time This morning we explore Schnbrunn Palace and Gardens, with a A Local Expert taking you beyond its Rococo architecture and sculpted gardens for an in-depth look into the Habsburg dynastys former summer residence. In the palace bakery youll see how authentic Austrian Apfelstrudel is made, before tasting this A Local Speciality. Your nal afternoon and evening in Vienna are free so you can shop, visit the museums and galleries or just relax in the cafs. (BB)
Day 6 | Thursday | Wachau Valley and Salzburg (2 nights) Leaving Vienna, we head to Salzburg, travelling along the stunning Wachau Valley, seeing the famous monastic Melk Abbey, and crossing the Salzkammergut a picturesque region of mountains and lakes whose salt deposits brought wealth to the region. Stopping in Mondsee, we visit St Michaels Basilica, where Captain Von Trapp and Maria married in the lm, The Sound of Music. Then we make our way to enchanting Salzburg. (BB) Hotel: Wyndham Grand | Castellani Park | Sheraton3 Day 7 | Friday | Salzburg Sightseeing Meeting a A Local Expert in Salzburg, he shares sights like the Getreidegasse, Salzburg Cathedral, Mozarts birthplace and many locations used in the lm, The Sound of Music. This evening, weve arranged an unforgettable Farewell Dinner joining a local Austrian family for dinner at their Gasthof, tasting regional dishes, hearing local stories and saying goodbye to your newfound friends. (BB, BMG) Day 8 | Saturday | Depart Munich (transfer from Salzburg) Your insiders journey in Austria comes to an end, with a complimentary transfer (conditions apply) to Munich Airport for your ight home. Trip Notes
Airport transfers: In Vienna, transfers are on Day 2 and leave the airport at 9am, 12.30pm and 3pm. In Salzburg, our transfers to Munich Airport are at 8am and 11.30am. If you are travelling at other times, you will need to make your own way to the hotel or airport (you can purchase our private transfers for Vienna, but these are not available for Munich).

Price: Price is per person and based on double occupancy. Price includes all government taxes, ground transportation, entrance fees as per itinerary plus services of the driver, Travel Director and Local Guides, where applicable, and meals as specied. Deposit: Your guided vacation reservation will be conrmed on receipt of a non-refundable deposit of $200 per person which must be paid within 3 days of booking or the reservation will automatically be cancelled. Full Payment: Full payment is required at least 45 days prior to departure from Canada. For reservations made less than 45 days prior to departure from Canada, full payment is required at time of bookings. Trafalgar reserves the right to cancel the reservation and impose cancellation charges should payments not be received within the above specied periods. Booking Changes: A fee of $35 per person will be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is conrmed unless the change increases the value of the booking.
