MILIS: New-generation thermal imager for MILAN
MILIS is a member of the Sagem DS MATIS family of 3rd generation thermal imagers, based on a cooled focal plane array operating in the 3 to 5m waveband. It has been specially designed in cooperation with EUROMISSILE for the MILAN antitank weapon system, which requires ruggedness, a light weight and high performance. It can be mounted on the MILAN sight in less than 10 seconds without boresighting or adjustment.

Low life-cycle cost


A Stirling cycle microcooler cools the sensor, with short cool-down time and high MTBF requiring no systematic logistic support for the cryogenic system. MILIS is modular and easy to maintain, without specic tools.

Long range and high resolution


High thermal sensitivity and resolution give the system a recognition range superior to the MILAN missiles maximum range. Its high resolution and dual eld of view oer users extensive observation capabilities. The camera features low consumption and can be powered directly from its own battery or from an external source. A standard TV output enables connection to a monitor for observation onboard a vehicle or for instruction.
