Medical Camp and Health awareness program:

Health camps: During the year Amarjyoti The Rural Development society, keeping in mind the emerging health needs of the community of the operational area conducted 7 health camps and covered more than 700 needy people who received quality medical attention with free medicine. Skill training has been organized by the organization on various trade and around 600 youth have been trained are sustaining their livelihood. 500 women have been trained on even various trade and sustaining their livelihood. Referral services: During the year while conducting health camps in the interior location of Bastar and Bakaband Block of Bastar district Our specialized doctors screened the patients those who were in need of emergency medical attention. 31 major cases were referred to multi specialty hospital for quality treatment and follow up. With our small initiatives the 108 extensive ambulance service could provide care to cases with basic emergency and cases with emergency obstetric care in an effective way that saved many lives in the project area. Training to community leader has been imparted to understand the real needs of the community and to respond collectively in 5 villages of Bastar Block in this year. It was really learning for the organization to explore the real need and to develop mechanism to respond such needs in community driven solution.

Seminar and workshop The organization organized seminar for the health worker and health professional on different health issue in the context of Bastar region. Exercise and demonstration were conducted to redirect the health strategy to be more effective in the particular region. Around 120 people attended the seminar and training program of the organization.

Women empowerment: As a part of women empowerment the organization conducted meeting for the SHG women and discussed with them on various health issue and its community driven solution. Organization also provided training on Book keeping and how to manage petty business to 30 SHG during the year. The international women day was celebrated with full perseverance and the women of the community participated and took the oath to fight for women right

Networking: The organization is having a good networking with the local NGOs and the professional working especially in Bastar region .we have meeting in the quarterly basis we share and learn from this platform.

Organization worked with collaboratively with other organization in the field of watershed and drinking water project. Facilitated community participation and mobilization at community level. More than 300 house hold being benefited through this work in this program.

In the 30 village of block of Bakaband and Bastar Amarjyoti The rural Development Society is covering 15 primary school under its health and hygiene program. It is teaching health education and promoting good hygiene practice. The organization through its innovative methodology dragging the attention of the kids and bringing change in their behavior.

During the year organization undertook skill and capacity building in various stream following are the major interventions of the year.

Conclusion: The year 2011 -2012was really exciting for the project team in bringing laudable change in the lives of the people of the project area. The team with its consistent efforts engaged in spite of many obstacles. The major challenges are the organization is facing quality staff and the staff retention. Organization strategically taking initiative to build up the local leadership and to cater local resources so that the challenges can be responded properly. Another future plan of the organization to build the capacity of the local NGOs and its personnel under an umbrella of social work professional so that rationally the organization would be able to work to materialize the goal and vision of theirs organization.
