8k 9et's get starte!$ To complete this tutorial, you will nee! the following stock)

.ont Grungy Texture *choose one from the pack, Stone Groun! Texture :ock

Step 1
+reate a new !ocument with %lack %ackgroun! *si;e !oesn't matter for this tutorial,, loa! the grungy textures into Photoshop an! select a portion of it, copy an! paste onto our !ocument)

Apply the following a!<ustment layers to it) 9e#els

9ayer mask on the le#els a!<ustment layer)

=lack an! white

an! you will ha#e the following effect)

Step 2
8pen up the stone groun! texture in Photoshop, use a >6px feather 9asso Tool to make a selection on it)

+opy an! paste the selection onto our !ocument, use a soft eraser to smooth its e!ge)

A!! a %lack an! white a!<ustment layer to this groun! texture layer)

/a!e sure you set the %len!ing mo!e of this %lack an! white layer to ?o#erlay@)

Ase a har! re! %rush to paint some re! lines on the grungy texture for some extra effect) *Set the %rush flow an! opacity to aroun! B6C,

Step 3
Ase the font we !onwloa!e!, type some text on the groun! & rasteri;e an! perspecti#e it a %it for more !epth)

De only want a su%tle effect for the text & so change this text layer %len!ing mo!e to ?o#erlay@, an! erase the e!ges with a soft eraser)

Paint some sha!ow un!er the texture with a soft %lack %rush)

Duplicate this text layer once an! resi;e it as shown %elow) *change layer %len!ing mo!e to ?o#erlay@ for this motion %lur layer,

Duplicate this enlarge! text layer once an! apply the following /otion =lur filter to it)

an! you will ha#e the following effect)

Step 4
Ase a clou! %rush or ren!er some clou! aroun! the groun! texture)

Go %ack to the grungy %ackgroun! layer, use a soft eraser tool to erase the grungy texture aroun! the e!ge of the stone & this way you can create a floating effect for the groun!)

Step 5
9oa! the rock image into Photoshop an! select a portion of the rock texture with Euick Selection tool)

+opy an! paste the selection onto our !ocument, resi;e it to co#er <ust the text)

Go %ack to the original text layer, loa! the selection of this layer then in#erse it with +trl 7 Shift 7 I, then clear the selection)

8nce you clear the selection, make sure you go %ack to the original text layer, an! mo#e it a little towar!s the left & this creates a fake >D effect an! make the text %ol!er)

Select the Erase tool an! use the following +halk %rush settings for this eraser)

+arefully erase the %ottom portion of the text with this chalk %rush to %len! it into the groun!)

Step 6
De're almost !one. .or some final retouches, I !eci!e! to a!! some .i%re effect to the text for some extra fla#our. So let's gra% a >6px feathere! 9asso Tool to !raw a selection, fill it with %lack colour)

:en!er some .i%ers insi!e with the .i%ers .ilter)

+hange the layer %len!ing mo!e to ?(i#i! 9ight@ an! !rop the opacity to aroun! 36C)

Duplicate this .i%er layer once an! change the %len!ing mo!e of the !uplicate! layer to ?Screen@, !rop the opacity to aroun! B6C. -ou will ha#e the following effect)

.inally, we can a!! a new +olor =alance a!<ustment layer on top with the following settings)

9ayer mask on this colour %alance a!<ustment layer)
