On March 4, 2014, Victor T. Soriano was stabbed to death by his son, Ramon W. Soriano, at their home in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines. According to a neighbor, they heard the victim and suspect arguing shortly before the incident. The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. In a follow up investigation on March 6, police arrested Ramon W. Soriano, who admitted to killing his father because he did not receive an inheritance of land from his father. The police are preparing a case of parricide against the suspect.

1. On March 4, 2014 at around 9:00 oclock in the evening a killing incident transpired at #02 Malued Dagupan City Pangasinan wherein the victim, Victor T. Soriano married, 62 yrs old, resident of the said place was stabbed by an allege kitchen knife several times on his body by his son Ramon W. Soriano, 21 yrs old, single, resident of Rivera Dagupan City Pangasinan. The suspect fled away after the said incident. 2. Based on the statement of the neighbour of the victim named Juan T. Dela Cruz, single, 32 yrs old, that at around 8:50 oclock on that evening he heard the victim and the suspect having an argument. The victim was rushed to the Nazareth hospital but the victim was declared dead on arrival. 3. The motive of the incident is undetermined and the case is still under investigation. 4. DCPSBIN Memorandum For: Chief of Police Subject: Progress report regarding killing incident of Victor T. Soriano Date: March 6, 2014

1. Reference: Memo from this office (Initial Report) dated March 4, 2014 subject as above. 2. Above reference pertains to the killing incident that transpired at Malued Dagupan City Pangasinan. Base on the statement of Ronald Q. Fernandez, 36 yrs old, married, resident of Malued Dagupan City Pangasinan, that at around 8:54 oclock on the evening of March 4, 2014 he heard a voice screaming. Fernandez immediately went outside of his house to what happened then he saw Ramon W. Soriano stabbing his father with an alleged kitchen knife and immediately fled away. Therefore PO3 Marvin T. Cruz conducted a follow-up operation that resulted to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect admitted that he killed his father because the victim did not give him a land inheritance on their farm.

3. A case of Parricide is being prepared by this office for filling in court against the suspect. Any development regarding this case will be submitted to that office as soon as obtained. 4. For information.
