Director 5eneral of police is the head of the police department. 8e saw all the management of police and Inspector general is the second highest post of police. (here is more then one inspector general under the director general. &fter that the another posts of police comes. (he lowest post of police is 1onsta.le. Inspector 5eneral of police is in charge of a zone, which comprise few ranges. Dy. Inspector 5eneral of Police is in charge of a range, which comprise a group of district. Superintendent of police is in charge of a district. Dy. Superintendent of police is in charge of su. division in the district. Inspector of police is the in charge of a police station. Su.

Inspector of police is the in charge of a smaller police station and the other officers are the staff of the police station.

(he police station in which we visited is located in Rohini sec#+. (his police station covers the area of Rohini Sector#! and Sector# +. (wo or three cases registered in this police station in a day. (here is a .oard in which the poster of criminals with their details is printed. & notice .oard for officer9s direction is also located. Different registers are maintained for different things. If a complaint is comes then try to find the truth that the complaints is true or false. &s we entered the gate of police station, we found that the ground floor consisted of following section. $#Re&e'tion? n the left hand, as we entered the main gate inside the station, there was a reception which consisted of a .ig wooden ta.le. It was headed .y a lady consta.le. It is a place from where the complaint is directed to the respective duty officer. -o *IR is lodged in this section .ut only the entries are done. !#D(t# Offi&er? Duty officer is a person who lodges the *IR and tells the respective officer a.out the report. 8e maintains the daily diary and puts entry in them. In case of cogniza.le offence, he lodges *IR :*irst Information report; while an -1R :-on 1ogniza.le Repot; is filled in case of non cogniza.le offences. 8e also maintains the P1R calls. +#Inve"ti- tion room? (here is a room in the police station where a person weather accused or witness can .e detained for some time .y the investigation officer for en6uiring . )# Re&ord Room? &ll files are maintained here. (he record of various offences and there details, P1R call record, .ail register, *IR record and other information are maintained here. (he registers are given no. and designated .y those no. only for e<ample conviction record is maintained in register no.# =, criminal record is maintained in register no.#>.

(he call is directed from the head6uarter to the wireless room of the police station. It is two in num.er. & proper sanitation facility is there. Rooms have sanitation facilities .ut no switch.oards or fans, nails or any sharp edges which might help to commit suicide or harem themselves in any form. In this visit of police Station we understood the .asic structure of the police station. (here are three Inspectors of police in this police station. -ow the police stations .ecome advanced. &ll the data of police record saved in computer. *IR also loading in computerized form for the record. Sometimes Inspectors not wearing his uniform in police station. (here are some 8elp line -o. of some senior officers in the reception and there is a notice .oard in which the daily notice is written for the officers. (here is a women help desk in the reception, where a lady consta.le sitting to note the complaint of ladies. 'ainly all the lady staff .usy in other work.
