KLINGER Maxiprofile
(Kamprofile) Gaskets-
Type T109
KLINGER type 109 exhibit excellent results,
particularly where high pressures, temperatures
and therefore, high bolt loads are to be controlled.
A solid metal ring is machined to a specific Klinger
profile on each contact face which provides a
serrated surface finish. Under compression the
finish develops high surface stress values enabling
the soft coating to fill any imperfections in the
flange facing. A variety of surface coatings can be
applied to service high temperature, pressure or
corrosive media applications.
Temperatures range from cryogenic to 1090C with
a wide chemical resistance.
Applications of T109 Gaskets:
Heat Exchanger and Vessel
applications
High and low temperatures
Pressures of up to 250 bar
Low bolt loads
Small flange widths
General Properties of
T109 Gaskets:
Have a wide range of
seating stresses under
which the seal is effected
and maintained
Can be used when there is
insufficient bolt load to seal
conventional gasket materials
Easy to handle and fit
Suitable for a wide range
of operating conditions
The soft facing layer
prevents damage to the
flange
Provide a high integrity
seal including thermo cycling
and shock loading conditions
Can be refurbished with a
new facing layer and
reused depending on condition of core
Materials :
Support Ring:
Stainless Steel 316L (standard)
Available ex stock are 304L, 321,
mild steel, titanium, duplex, inconel,
monel.
Other materials are available on
request and include aluminium,
hastelloy and many others.
Coating Materials:
Graphite, PTFE , Mica, Klingersil plus
others.
Standard core design is parallel which offers the
advantages of even stress distribution across the
gasket face. This type of profile ensures a uniform
high seating stress and is effective for low bolt load
applications.
Other Profiles Available:
Core Design:
LA1 Lateral profiled joint with
guide ring. Most often used for
standard flanges.
LA2 Lateral profiled joint. Most
often used with or without pass bars
for heat exchangers.
LA3 Lateral profiled joint with
floating guide ring.
