Since Esscano Power was established in 1991,
we have sold and installed more than 20 steam
turbines, with outputs ranging from 3 MWe to
over 30 MWe.
In 1999, our facility in the United Kingdom
opened. Since then it has participated in selling
and supporting installation of steam turbines in
Northern Europe.
In 2002, we acquired a company with expertise
in damper systems. Since then we have further
developed and rened a wide variety of signicant
damper solutions.
In 2011, we established a joint venture in Pune,
India, with a local partner, to supply the fast
growing Indian energy market with engineered
dampers for power plants.
Our ability to design and manufacture customized
industrial and retrot dampers has resulted in
major sales all over the world. This is supported by
our site installation and commissioning services.
Today, Esscano Power is a leading manufacturer
and supplier to the industrial damper market
worldwide. We supply and support complex
damper and diverter systems.

Our dampers are individually designed for
specic purposes.
We supply dampers for any application,
in materials suitable for the process.
We offer: Advice, design, manufacture,
delivery, installation, commissioning,
repairs and maintenance.
General types of dampers: Buttery dampers,
louvre dampers, diverter dampers, biplane
dampers, guillotine dampers, ap isolators/non
return dampers.
Other types: Flaps, stack dampers, diesel/gas
engine dampers, re dampers, sliding gates,
inlet guide vane dampers.
Special dampers: For the food processing
industry and other sanitary applications,
100% sealing dampers without seal air,
collaboratively designed dampers.
Applications: Filter systems, ue gas cleaning,
gas turbines, boiler and diesel plants, process
and cement industry, renery and offshore
installations.
Temperatures: From -80C to 1100C
Tightness: As per customer requirements.
Up to 100% sealing can be achieved with or
without sealing air. All types are ambient tight.
Actuators: Manual, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic,
all available from any manufacturer.
Accessories: Ducts, expansion joints, controls,
exhaust systems etc.
Service: Repair and modication on any make
of damper.

production technology. Our capabilities
in design and engineering include:

SolidWorks, the 3D tool for design.
This ensures the product is functionally
correct and that all production drawings
will be fully in accordance with the
designed damper.
Flow Simulation, where gas-ow
through channels can be investigated
thoroughly according to the specic
damper and media. Temperature
effects, ow effects and pressure
drops are analyzed and data can
be transferred to simulation for
stress/strength calculations.
SolidWorks Simulation,
where designs are analyzed
using SolidWorks Simulation
nite element analysis to ensure
the optimum design to meet the
customers requirements.
Designs can be done in accordance
with DIN, EN, ISO & API standards.

Guillotine Dampers
These dampers are typically used for isolation or
control of ue gasses. They are all characterized
by their low leakage rates achieving bench mark
sealing efciency. The dampers are primarily used
in waste heat recovery applications i.e. WHRU,
HRSG, lter applications, industrial boiler
applications, utility boiler applications and for
offshore/onshore petrochem applications.
All Esscano Dampers are designed with a unique
shaft seal system ensuring gas tightness to
ambient surroundings and therefore maintenance
free. The graphite shaft seal system will be
subjected to continuous temperatures of up
to 930C and is standard issue on all dampers
regardless of the application. Damper design
and the choice of material of the damper casing,
damper blade and shaft is based on customer
process data and the type of application, to ensure
optimal performance.
