Rafa Nadal

Rafa Nadal was born on the Spanish island of Majorca in 1986 where he started playing tennis at age three. Although right-handed, he changed to playing left-handed at age eight. His uncle Tony called for Rafa to become a professional tennis player. When Rafa was 14, the Spanish tennis federation wanted him to leave Majorca but his family did not, so the federation decided to reduce financial help for his career. Rafa tried twice to win Wimbledon before taking the title from Roger Federer in 2008, which they played in the longest Wimbledon final ever. In the same year, Rafa became the best tennis player in the world.
