Lemons of our Life: Imperative Lessons from our Failures

We all have experienced life enough to understand that its composed of successes and failures.
While we seem to welcome successes with open arms, we dont have the same reaction for
failures, do we? Well, rightly so, no one in their sane minds would be happy with their failures.
But, it definitely doesnt mean that people should necessarily be sad and frustrated and gloomy
because of those failures.
Now, you might be wondering, Why? Im not even entitled to feel sad about my failures?
Well, you are. You can feel any emotions you want to feel, however you shouldnt hold onto
them for too long. Yes, you need your time to heal or just to get over the fact that you have
failed, but mopping around all the time is definitely not going help you. Its an absolute no-
brainer that successes bring along happiness with them, but what do failures bring? Besides
sadness of course, I believe that failures bring lessons.
Ive been through the same phase to realize that when we fail, trying to grasp the lessons within
is the last thing we want to do. However, I also realize that these lessons have a lasting impact
upon a person and play a vital role in determining whether the person fails or succeeds the next
time. And therefore, Ive taken the liberty to collect and point out few of the lessons from the
lemons of our life, so that itd be easier for me and more importantly for everyone else, to
understand what we need to take from our failures.
1. Persistence and dedication are the it words
Yup. You heard me, they are the it words and failures teach us that. You fail once, but you
dont give up, you fail twice and again you dont give up, but you fail again and again, still you
persist. And one day after failing uncountable times, you will finally succeed. Persistence and
dedication does pay off, though success may take some time to come around, it will come.
2. Youre not perfect and thats okay
You will fail, miserably sometimes. And thats okay. It just means youre not perfect and thats
absolutely okay too! Because its not about what the end result is, its not about whether you
failed or you succeeded, its more about the fact that you at least attempted to do something.
Other people only talk the talk, but dont have anything to show for it.
3. You need a new insight
Failure is a way of telling you that you need to change the way youre looking at things. Youre
somehow doing or seeing something wrong which eventually leads you to failure. So, once you
fail, you know that now its time to think about the same thing in a different way, if youre
looking at it through your naked eyes then maybe now is the time to get some new spectacles.
4. You could do a lot worse

As scary as this sounds, it is true. You could do worse. I mean instead of failing on something
you love doing, you could be still daydreaming about what you love. Instead of failing by at least
attempting once, you could be still debating on whether or not to even take the desired risk. So,
give yourself a pat in the back for trying/failing and then start yet again.
5. Its not the end
Failing is not the end, failing to realize this fact can result the end, but just failing is definitely
not the end. I understand the urge to give up every time we fail; I mean weve worked really hard
to make certain things work and when they dont it affects you in one way or another, but
failures are bound to happen to everyone. You have to stay strong and believe that you can
succeed if you gave it another try.
