Limited Warranty Statement
Shindaiwa manufactures its products to superior quality standards to afford our customers
the highest level of satisfaction. In keeping with this goal, all Shindaiwa products are
warranted to the original purchaser as follows:
Warranty Coverage
Shindaiwa Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workman-
ship, under normal use and maintenance, subject to the periods, limitations and exclusions
listed below.
Shindaiwa Inc. will correct any defect in material or workmanship without charge for parts
or labor at any authorized Shindaiwa servicing dealer during the covered warranty period.
Warranty Period for Personal Use
Warranty coverage will be Two (2) years from date of purchase on products used for per-
sonal, non-commercial, non-institutional, non-income-producing or non-rental applications
and one (1) year for electric saws. Effective on retail purchases after J anuary 1, 2000.
Warranty Period for Commercial Use
Warranty coverage will be one (1) year from date of purchase on all products used in
business/commercial, institutional or income-producing applications with the exception of
electric saws, gas saws and gas cutoff saws. These products carry a 90-days warranty.
Excludes HomePro and Yardware units. Effective on retail purchases after
J anuary 1, 2000.
Warranty Period for Rental Use
Warrenty coverage will be ninety (90) days from date of purchase on products used in
rental applications. Excludes HomePro and Yardware units.
Warranty Period for HomePro and Yardware
Shindaiwa HomePro and Yardware brand products are intended for personal use
only; therefore the warranty period shall be two (2) years from date of purchase. HomePro
and Yardware are not warranted if used in commercial , institutional, income-producing,
or rental applications.
A Lifetime warranty coverage (parts only after the regular product warranty period)
applies to:
Major ignition components (transistor unit, ignition coil, exciter coil, and
pulser coil) applies to all models for internal failures only.
Solid drive shafts and flex drive cables for trimmers (excludes Yardware),
brushcutters, PowerBrooms, and lawn edgers (effective for retail purchases made
after January 1, 2000.)
Parts and Attachments
A ninety (90) day warranty applies to over-the-counter replacement parts. Parts replaced
under warranty are covered only for the remainder of the original product warranty period.
Attachments such as, but not limited to, bars, chains sprockets, Tiller/Cultivator tines, trimmer
heads and PowerBroom belts are subject to normal wear and tear and are not warranted
unless failure was due to a defect in materials or workmanship within ninety (90) days from
the original product purchase date.
Emission System Warranty
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board
(CARB) have implemented regulations that set specific exhaust emission limits. Shindaiwa
supports the effort to improve air quality and currently tests and certifies engines with both
agencies. Emission certified engines can be identified by an Important Engine Information
label on the engine.
Certain components on these engines have a separate, two year, emission control system
warranty. Details of the emission control system warranty limits are provided in the Emission
System Warranty Statement section of the product owners/operators manual for an emission
certified engine.
Warranty Exclusions and Limitations
Shindaiwa Inc. assumes no responsibility for damages, loss or injury resulting from: normal
wear and tear; misuse; modifications to or removal of original component parts; neglect or
improper maintenance or adjustments; fuel, oil, fuel mix, filters or parts not conforming to
manufacturers specifications; or service by other than authorized Shindaiwa servicing deal-
ers.
This warranty is limited to the terms stated herein. Shindaiwa Inc. disclaims all liability for
incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or
consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply. This warranty gives you specific
legal rights and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.
Shindaiwa reserves the right to change the design or specifications of any product without
obligation to modify previously produced units.
Owners Responsibilities
The owner shall demonstrate reasonable care in the use, maintenance and storage of the
Shindaiwa product. Should a warranted failure occur, the owner shall deliver the product to
an authorized Shindaiwa servicing dealer for correction.
Proof of purchase must be presented to the repairing authorized Shindaiwa servicing dealer
to obtain warranty service. This must include date of purchase, model and serial number,
and the name and address of the selling dealer.
