Tips On Kiln Operation

Reducing free lime content and increasing preheater exit temperatures, clinker temperatures, and kiln exit oxygen levels can increase heat consumption for clinker production. Higher residue and silica modulus in the kiln feed, as well as higher moisture in fine coal, can also increase heat consumption or reduce flame temperatures. Increasing cement fineness, flame temperatures, and alumina content in clinker can improve kiln productivity and reduce grinding energy needs.
