AN OPEN LETTER TO DR. BILAL PHILIPS.

BISMILLA HIR RAHMAN NIR RAHEEM

Respected Dr. Billal Philips,

Assalamo Alaikum Wa Rahmatulah Wa Baraktuh,

I really hold you in high esteem and admire your knowledge very much. I appreciate you for your services to
Islam which you are doing for decades. But this is a fact that only Prophet Muhammad was innocent from
error. Apart from him everyone can commit mistakes and everyone does commit mistakes at one time or
another.

In this letter I am pointing out some of your ijtihadi errors. I hope you would not mind.

1) It is not proven by the Glorious Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth that a jinn or shaitan can possess
human beings and drive them mad.

2) It is not proven by the Glorious Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth that a magic spell occurs due to
handiwork of jinn or shaitan but according to Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth it occurs by the will of Allah for
testing human beings.

3) You wrongly think that jinn feel the pain when a psychiatric person supposed to be possessed by jinn is
beaten and thrashed. Actually such persons get hurt by beating.

4) It is not proven by Authentic Ahadeeth that prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) ever exorcised jinn or
shaitan from any so called possessed person.

5) You wrongly consider conjurers and magicians as having control over jinns and shaitan who help them
in magical works.

We do not get any proof for these beliefs in the Glorious Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth even though you hold
these wrong beliefs.

The "possessed" person actually are psychiatric patients. Wrong commentaries of Glorious Quran and
inauthentic and weak hadeeths, wild guesses and blind following of the actions of forefathers (asalaf) are
responsible for the continuation and spread of these wrong beliefs which only increase shirk and bidah.

You wrongly consider conjurers and magicians as having control over jinns who help them in magical works. A
magician performs many tricks, he lifts things or a girl up in the air virtually without any support. Sometimes a
magician raises his hand in the air and fetches sweets or some money.

You are impressed by the tricks that have been mentioned in your book that these things happen with the help
of jinn or shaitan which is absurd and without any proof. I am more surprised that you ascribe to this view of
jinn or shaitan doing these tricks or magic, rather they (the magicians) take the help of big mirrors, sheets
of glasses and boxes having many bottoms and invisible screens and wires
in order to create virtual hallucinations.

India's greatest magician, P.C Sarkar has himself acknowledged that he doesn't know any spell nor does he
have any control over super natural power. Once he made Taj Mahal vanish in front of the people. On the stage
he severed the head of a boy or a girl and then joined it with the body.All these tricks were performed by the
tricks of his hands and not at all with the help of jinn or shaitan.

Those who bring money or sweet in front of people instantly, actually befool the people. It is a trick and no jinn
or shaitan helps them. Those who claim that jinn or shaitan is under their control are liars, frauds and cheaters.
Those who believe them are stupid. The power to control jinn was only given to Prophet Sulaiman (A.S) by
Allah and to none. ( Surah Swad Ayat No. 35)

When you could not prove your beliefs of jinn possessing human by Quran or Authentic Ahadeeth, you took
the help of Bible which says that Jesus(A.S) ordered bad spirits to come out of a person and these spirits left
that person's body and entered into the bodies of pigs, which were eventually drowned in a river.

No doubt Jesus (A.S) had the power to give sight to a blind person and cure a sick person having leprosy and
other diseases by the will of Allah. During those time, about 2000 years ago, people considered mad people to
be possessed by jinn. Such belief is rampant even today. Just imagine what could have been the scenario 2000
years ago when Jesus (A.S) cured a mad person by the will of Allah; the people thought the the jinn or bad
spirits had been expelled from the mad persons.

There is a Hadeeth of Abu Dawood and Tirmizi that once hazrat Umar (R.A) started to recite Taurat in front of
Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H).The face of Prophet(P.B.U.H) became red due to anger and he said "Had Moosa
(A.S) been alive, he would have no choice but to follow me".
We Muslims cannot follow the Bible when we have the Quran now to follow. There have been made several
changes in the Bible and other heavenly books except Quran. The priests have been altering the contents of
the Bible from time to time according to their whims. Therefore its words should not be presented as a proof
for anything.

Exorcism:

In your book "FUNDAMENTAL OF TAWHEED" you have written three methods which are used to drive jinn from
the so called "possessed persons".

1) In the first method another jinn is sent to drive the possessing jinn. In fact it is not proved from the the
Glorious Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth that a man can capture a jinn and order him to perform any task. To
hold this belief is to reject words of the the Glorious Quran and Authentic hadeeth. A person having this
"aqeedah" should repent and seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah.

2) In the second method you have said that when a person becomes a terrible sinner and always utters
"kufriya" words, the shaitan is impressed by him and becomes his disciple. When that person orders the
possessed jinn to remove his possession, the jinn follows his order and so the people around thinks that the
terrible sinner is a good person. All these are wild guessing and cannot be proved by the Glorious Quran and
Authentic Ahadeeth.

Pharaoh (Firoun) was an ardent enemy of Almighty Allah and a disbeliever to the extent that he declared
himself God. He massacred thousands of innocent children and was involved in all kinds of heinous sins but
there is no evidence that he reigned over jinns and shaitans. Jinns and shaitan never became his followers and
did not performed things according to his wish. If a sinner of Pharaoh's magnitude couldn't control jinns and
shaitan, then how can today's small time magicians control them? Having such opinions that jinns can be
controlled by men is a wrong belief and cannot be proved from the Glorious Quran and Authentic Hadeeths.

3) According to your opinion written in your book, the third method is correct in the light of Glorious
Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth. In this method Ayats of Quran is recited to drive out the jinn from the so
called possessed person. I say that when there is no proof from the holy Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth that a
person can be possessed by jinn, any act to exorcise jinn even by reciting Quran is an open bidah which leads
to hell fire.

Reincarnation (cycle of birth and rebirth):
You have written in your book that it is shaitan or jinn who enters into the body of a person and speaks of
his/her previous birth to defame the true aqeedah of Islam.

This opinion is totally wrong and cannot be proved by the holy Quran and Authentic Ahadeeth. In fact, the
child or a person in question is taught and told beforehand about every specific details of that distant place
and then presented to the world. These are frauds done by persons in order to defame the true aqeedah of
Islam and to get money from people of weak Iman (belief).

In some parts of India a custom is that when a child is bitten to die by a snake then the dead body of that child
is made to float in the river. After a few years some cheaters take a big child to that family and say that "This is
your snake bitten child". They say that they fished the child's dead body out from the river, treated and made
him alive. In this way the child of cheaters became owners of the property of that foolish family.

Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H) exorcised:

In your book the "FUNDAMENTALS OF TAWHEED" and in footnotes of the translation of Imam Ibn Taymmiyah
(R.A), "THE JINN (DEMONS)"you have quoted many hadeeths. All of those hadeeths are daeef and inauthentic.

The Hadeeths of UmmeAbaan bintalWaazi ibn Zari ibn Aamiralabadi,of Yaalaa ibn Marrah narrated by
Abdullah ibn Namir and of Ahmad,Daarmi and Bahqi in which it is stated that a black puppy came out from the
mouth and ran away.All these hadeeth are daeef and inauthentic but you wrote they are either good (Hasan)
or authentic.

Please read the chapter Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) exorcised people possessed by jinn in the book
"POSSESSION OF JINNA MYTH" you will get the truth, Insha Allah. According to the holy Quran and authentic
Hadeeth shaitan's only mission is to mislead and misguide people and is the only cause of all evils.

Respected and beloved Dr.Bilal, my intention is not to criticize you. You are a great and noble scholar of Islam.
My only intention is to remove those thoughts which are not proved by the Glorious Quran and authentic
Ahadeeth and are responsible of spreading superstition , illiteracy, grave worship, bidah and shirk.

I hope you will take my letter as an educational and research matter.
