Ben Pingel
Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign/Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
I learned how to improve a logo and match colors..
Process:
I made the division of front and back. The front shows the
logo and an image of a farm. The back shows information
and the rest of the fronts image. For the inside I placed the
text where is explained about the company and a little of its
purpose and backgrounds. I chose to place the three pictures
in the same side because the emphasis is greater and for
people is easy to read the left side. I chose four images that
shows only farms. Two of them are in the process of being
constructed and the other two are in 100% finish. I choose
different sizes so it looks nice and emphasizes differently. I
created the logo in Illustrator and it looks really nice because
it is a farm with the companys name.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Objectives:
Create a variety of logos to fit a company or personal image.
I learned how to draw using the pen tool.
Process:
First I wanted to make different styles, so I decided to make
1 square, 1 circle, and only text. I enjoyed really this activity
because it helped me to be very creative with the logos. I
used more blue because it makes a fresh logo especially for
a laundry company. Details are really important to me so I
worked really hard to make all of them look good.
Message: Lavanderia Aysen is a laundry service in Chile with
high quality service.

Program(s)/Tools:
Text Wrangler
Objectives:
Placing images in the background.
Process:
I used text wrangler to use the codes to make the HTLM. I
placed an ocean picture in the background to make it related
with my logo and the company. I wrote the description of my
logo in the text section. I used Photoshop to get the color of
my logo to match it with the top part and also the borders.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
I learned that I can create a nice project by simplifying things
and related an image into a text.
Process:
I used Adobe Photoshop. After placing my first image, then I
placed the eagle on the right bottom side. I created a mask
and then erase all border around the eagle. After that I placed
the texted on the left top. I left an empty between the quote
and the author to make the eagle part of the text.

TextWrangler
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Size and optimize an original logo as a .png for a web page.
Write content to describe the process of creating your logo
and how it appeals to a target audience.
Design a web page using HTML to display a logo and content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and basic
understanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in a zipped folder to attach as one file.
Process:
I created this web page using only TextWrangler. After I
marked up all my content and inserted my image, I attached a
pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then used the colors
from my logo as the colors for my web page. I found these
colors by opening Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool.
I also changed my fonts to Times New Roman and Verdana. I
declared some backup fonts just in case the viewers browser
didnt have these fonts. I also used padding around the logo
and text so that they would not be too close to the edge of
the web page. This was one of the most challenging parts of
working with CSS.

Adobe InDesign
Objectives:
Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography.
Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.
Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign
document to keep links intact.
Process:
I first created some sketches of my layout. Then I used my
sketch as a guide to create this layout in Adobe InDesign. I
used black boxes for repetition and contrast. I also emphasized
one word in my title for more contrast, and to create a good
focal point. I left white space and kept my body copy small. I
was given the image, logo, and content for this flier.

Program(s)/Tools:
Microsoft Word
Epson Scanner
PDF2JPG.net (PDF converter)
Objectives:
Find, scan and import a high-quality image.
Create a full-bleed design
Use text boxes for layout in Word.
Insert and edit images in Word.
Process:
I scanned the bike image, and then used a Word image effect
to delete most of the background. This left a random white
pattern, so I added a shadow to give it an artsy effect. Then I
added boxes with various shades of green in the background
for repetition and organization. I chose one font with
contrasting weights for simplicity. I was surprised at how much
I could do with the hidden design features of Microsoft Word.
Now I know that I could use it in a pinch.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign
Objectives:
Learn basic photography skills.
I learned why is important to contrast white and black and
also how to make the flier professional.
Process:
First I made the big box with the title to make it clear and
grab attention to the audience. Then I decided to insert the
text to the left and the image to the right. I emphasized with
bold on the question because it is important to know whats
the main point of this. Also, I bold the date and time, which
I think is a essential information in this flier. The website
information I leave it on the right bottom which is easy to find.
Logo on the left bottom that makes it clear. I made five small
boxes to repeat and contrast the paper. The grey lines helps to
organize the text and image.
