M.P. Prakash, former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, writes letters to several Union Ministers requesting their recommendation to the Minister of Tribal Affairs to release outstanding grant balances owed to the Social Educational & Vocational Association (SEVA) in Raichur, Karnataka. SEVA runs a vocational training center for Scheduled Tribe youth but has only received the first installment for 2003-04 and is still owed funds for 2004-05 through 2006-07. Raichur district and its tribal population would benefit from the continued services provided by SEVA.

Dear Sir,
Social Educational & Vocational Association (SEVA), # 12-11-61, Arab Mohalla,
Raichur 584101 (Karnataka) has requested for releasing of the balance grant
for the year 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 from the Ministry of Tribal
Affairs. This association has received only the first installment for the year 200304. As could be seen from the representation inspite of their repeated request to
the authorities concerned, no action has yet been taken for releasing the balance
grants due to them.
This association, as I know, has been successfully implemented the Vocational
Training Centre exclusive for Scheduled Tribe youths in Raichur. It is necessary
here to mention that Raichur district is one of the most backward districts of
Karnataka State and I am told that most of the youths who have undergone
training in their Vocational Training Centre have been Selfemployed and also
employed in various organizations and thereby seeking out their livelihood.
In this context the Govt. of Karnataka has recommended to the Ministry of Tribal
Affairs, Govt. of India to release the balance grants of SEVA.
I shall be much obliged if you could kindly recommend to Shri.Kantilal Bhuria,
Hon'ble Minister for Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India for releasing immediately grants
and help the SEVA to continue to render good service.
With kind regards,
Yours sincerely
