Description
Nitoseal 125 is low modulus silicone rubber joint sealant
that cures by exposure to atmospheric moisture. It is applied
simply from the cartridge and can be finished neatly with
appropriate tooling. When cured it will accommodate high
thermal, shrinkage and moisture movements.
Technical support
Fosroc offers a comprehensive technical support service to
specifiers, end users and contractors. It is also able to offer
on-site technical assistance, an AutoCAD facility and
dedicated specification assistance in locations all over the
world.
Design criteria
Joints should be designed so that movement due to
shrinkage and thermal changes do not exceed the 40%
Movement Accommodation Factor, related to joint width.

Instructions for use

Joint Preparation
Joint surfaces must be clean and dry. Remove all dust and
laitance by grit blasting, grinding or rigorous wire brushing.
Where necessary to achieve the correct joint profile,
Expancell* backing cord should be used. In joints not using
Expancell, Nitoseal Debonding Tape should be placed in the
base of the joint.
Priming
Nitoseal 125 exhibits excellent adhesion without primer to
glass, tiles, ceramics, aluminium, concrete, masonry, epoxy,
polyester and wood.
Application
Nitoseal 125 can be applied by hand or air operated caulking
gun. Ensure that the sealant is pushed firmly in to the joint to
give complete wetting of the surface. Any tooling of the sealant
surface must be carried out immediately using a joint shaping
tool soaked in detergent solution. If required the edges of the
joint can be protected with masking tape - if this is done ensure
that the tape is removed immediately after tooling.
Cleaning
