In 2010, we built the worlds tallest skyscraper, the
iconic 828-meter Burj Khalifa in Dubai. This was
after having constructed one of the previously tallest
buildings, the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur,

among the worlds longest and most innovative
bridges, ingeniously designed for the demands of

at Roy Hill iron ore mine in Western Australia, weve

BUILDING
Samsung C&T is best known for
intelligent skyscrapers. Our portfolio
includes the worlds tallest man-made
structure, Dubais 828-meter Burj

Towers in Malaysia. In building the Burj
Khalifa, with its 58 elevators and 29,000
curtain walls, we applied cutting-edge
technologies, including our threeday cycle method that allowed us to
complete each floor in just three days.

posed by climate change. Samsung C&T
is a world leader in fast, efficient design
and construction of modern power
plantsboth conventional and nuclear.
Our Plant Business Unit is renowned for
its skills in producing, transporting, and
processing energy.
Our company has been building power generation,
energy storage, and transmission facilities since
the early 1990s. Today, we are recognized as a

premier builder and a leader in engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC), especially
in the MENA region and Southeast Asia.
Samsung C&T provides a full scope of EPC,
including design, procurement, construction,
and commissioning. As a result, we were awarded
a $2.12 billion contract for the construction of the
Qurayyah Combined Cycle Gas-Fired Independent
Power Project (IPP). We were also named as lead
contractor for the Roy Hill iron ore mine, rail and
port development in Western Australia.
Our reputation in the industry has continued to
grow with the recent completion of Shuweihat
S2 IWPP, a combined power and seawater
desalination plant in Abu Dhabi that can also
produce up to 1,500 MW of electricity. To further
reinforce our reputation, we signed a $587
million contract with EMAL, UAEs aluminum
manufacturer, for the construction of a Combined
Cycle Power Plant in Abu Dhabi, and we completed
construction of the GMR Combined Cycle Power
Plant in Singapore. We are aggressively pursuing
the expanding opportunities we see in energy
storage and the LNG market, areas where our
expertise and reputation for speed and reliability
have made us a premier contractor.

We have established ambitious goals to reduce
emissions of greenhouse gases and other
pollutants, and we are making rapid progress in
minimizing other negative environmental impacts.
At the same time, we are working to identify

Performance Management System represents

Tomorrow show house in
Yong-in won a coveted LEED
Platinum rating, the worlds
highest green building
design standard. The
house features innovative
systems that reduce energy
consumption by 56% while
generating the rest from
renewable sources. An
innovative biological reactor
treats most of the water
used in the house, making it
safe for reuse.
As a result of our growing expertise in
environmental management, Samsung C&T has
been named as the Sector Leader in the Carbon
Disclosure Project for three consecutive years,
and we have been a member of the Carbon
Management Global Leaders Club for two
consecutive years.

In 2013, more than 24,000 employees participated

such as storms and floods. Our Samsung C&T
Village program focuses on developing and
upgrading residential facilities in rural areas
with impoverished living standards. We also
help communities establish better educational

elementary education institute in Rambang,
Indonesia and the juvenile vocational training
center in Ban Bueng, Thailand, as well as through
other specialized job training program around

Our citizenship efforts focus on improving the
