Dynafleet helps haulage companies to take full control over their transport operations and vehicle fleet.
Dynafleet is Volvos online business tool for improved profitability. Using any computer connected to the
Internet, you can check the current location of your trucks, monitor how much fuel they are consuming and
check their driven routes, driver times and much more.

The navigation system optimizes the fastest or shortest route based on restrictions in customized truck
attributes such as; width, height, weight, axle load and hazardous material.

INTRODUCTION TO DYNAFLEET

Dynafleet is offered as four main services:

Fuel & Environment

Driver Times
Positioning
Messaging

The customer can choose one or many services in any combination. For information about the content
of the services please read the Dynafleet fact sheet.
There is also a fifth module that you can order in the same way as the Dynafleet services and that will
be invoiced together with the Dynafleet services. This fifth module is a consultancy service called Fuel
Advice which can only be ordered together with the Fuel & Environment service. For information
about the content of the service please read the Fuel Advice Fact sheet
Fuel Advice (consultancy service, Fuel & Environment is a prerequisite)
After deciding which Dynafleet services that suits the need, you order Dynafleet by first selecting the
Dynafleet hardware and then continue by selecting the suitable services.
There are 2 levels of Dynafleet hardware. These are:
Dynafleet with Telematics Gateway
Dynafleet with Telematics Gateway, Driver Service Platform and Display
Note: If the customer wants the Messaging service, the second option must be selected.

To register a customer to Dynafleet Online, please go to the Truck portal and fill in the Dynafleet
registration form in the VTOS Admin tool.
Existing Dynafleet Online customers, please go to: http://www.dynafleetonline.com
Here you activate the Dynafleet Online subscriptions.

The TGW-3G can only be installed on an FL/FE (3) vehicle with Euro 6. There is also a restriction against
installing the Telematics Gateway on trucks equipped with variant ACCBR-F Roof bracket for
accessories.

Installation of Dynafleet equipment in non-Volvo truck vehicles requires that an artificial chassis ID is created
prior to running the accessory kits for the hardware and services as well as the ECU/MID programming.

This is done in Volvo TechTool/VCADS, by following these steps:

In Volvo Techtool/VCADS. Identify the vehicle manually as a COMP04 model.

Start the operation called "1700-08-03-35 Central systems, updating, create Dynafleet chassis ID"
located under "1-Service and maintenance".
3.
The operation will ask you for information. Fill in the non-Volvo vehicles real VIN number and select
which Tachograph type it has (No Tacho, Analogue Tacho or Digital Tacho). Also select in which country
the vehicle is operating/registered.
4.
After the operation has been successfully performed the new artificial chassis ID will be created in VDA
and presented to the Volvo TechTool user. This chassis number can now be used to continue the
installation and run the Dynafleet accessory kits on and for programming of the ECU/MIDs.
5.
After the installation is complete the vehicle can be entered in the Dynafleet Online portal by supplying
the vehicles real VIN number during registration.

2.1.4 Removing Dynafleet Hardware

If the Telematics Gateway is removed from a classic vehicle the Accessory kit 85115938 must be run to
update the VDA system.
The Telematics Gateway should not be removed from an FH/FM (4) or an FL/FE (3) vehicle.

Installation of Dynafleet equipment in non-Volvo truck vehicles requires that an artificial chassis ID is created
prior to running the accessory kits for the hardware and services as well as the ECU/MID programming.
This is done in Volvo TechTool/VCADS, by following these steps:

In Volvo Techtool/VCADS. Identify the vehicle manually as a COMP04 model.

Start the operation called "1700-08-03-35 Central systems, updating, create Dynafleet chassis ID" located
under "1-Service and maintenance".
The operation will ask you for information. Fill in the non-Volvo vehicles real VIN number and select which
Tachograph type it has (No Tacho, Analogue tacho or Digital tacho). Also select in which country the vehicle
is operating/registered.

After the operation has been successfully performed the new artificial chassis ID will be created in VDA and
presented to the Volvo TechTool user. This chassis number can now be used to continue the installation and
run the Dynafleet accessory kits on and for programming of the ECU/MIDs.
5 After the installation is complete the vehicle can be entered in the Dynafleet Online portal by supplying the
vehicles real VIN number during registration.

Please note that in order to upgrade to Navigation the vehicle must be equipped with a Driver Service
Platform (TESP) with p/n 22271868 or p/n 22370475. This applies to both FH/FM (4) and FH/FM
(Classic).
If the Driver Service Platform (TESP) is older than one year you need to update the maps when making
the upgrade. The process for doing this is not defined yet.

DYNAFLEET SERVICES

Dynafleet is offered as four main services:

Messaging

The customer can choose one or many services in any combination. For information about the content
of the services please read the Dynafleet fact sheet.
The subscriptions to the Dynafleet services include unlimited communication between vehicle and
office within the whole of Europe. As a customer you will also receive free updates regularly of the
functions included.
For the services Fuel & Environment, Driver Times and Positioning the minimum hardware requirement
is Dynafleet with Telematics Gateway (TGW-3GWL / TGW-3G) . The Messaging service requires
Dynafleet with both Telematics Gateway (TGW-3GWL / TGW-3G) and Driver Service Platform (TESPT/TESP-TN).

To register a customer to Dynafleet Online, please go to the Truck portal and fill in the
Dynafleet registration form in the VTOS Admin tool.

When a login to Dynafleet Online has been obtained the vehicle can be activated on Dynafleet

The subscriptions will be invoiced monthly according to the Dynafleet Online price list.
Customer operational needs change over time. The Dynafleet services can be added or removed to
meet new requirements.

There is also a fifth module that you can order in the same way as the Dynafleet services and that will
be invoiced together with the Dynafleet services. This fifth module is a consultancy service called Fuel
Advice which can only be ordered together with the Fuel & Environment service. For information

7.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

7.1 DriverID
DriverID is an alternative way to identify which driver is driving a vehicle. It is mainly intended for
vehicles that are not equipped with a digital tachograph or a Driver Service platform (TESP-T or TESPTN) which will otherwise provide means for the driver login.
With this function each driver will have a USB memory stick which needs to be configured by the fleet
administrator in Dynafleet Online. Once the memory stick has been configured the driver will login to
the vehicle by inserting the USB memory stick into a cable that first needs to be installed in the vehicle.
After a driver has logged in with his USB stick the logged vehicle and tracking data will be connected to
the driver and can be analysed in Dynafleet Online.
The cable exists in two different lengths depending on which type of cab it is installed in. It can be
ordered as an accessory on the part numbers listed below.
The USB memory stick does not exist as a Volvo accessory but it is possible to choose any USB memory
stick as long as it is an empty USB stick without special features. The USB memory stick needs to be
formatted in FAT32 file system format.
Prerequisite:
The vehicle needs to be installed with one of the following Telematics Gateways, TGW-2G, TGW2GWL, TGW-3G or TGW-3GWL, before the DriverID solution can be installed.
