Introduction to Bloomberg Charts


Creating a chart on Bloomberg
Type G <GO> Select 1 <GO> to Add Worksheet
Follow the options to create a historical or intraday price chart.
Using your custom graph templates

Use the format <Ticker> <Yellow Key> G# <GO>, where # is the number of the graph
template. E.g. T US
G5 <GO>
For a list of all your custom graph templates, type G <GO>

Use LAUNCHPADSM as a custom charting desktop application


Type BLP <GO>, or press the white LPAND button on your Bloomberg Keyboard to display
the red Launchpad toolbar
On the Launchpad toolbar, click on Launch Analytics/Chart Chart.
Click on any of the G graphs listed, then select Open.
To link charts together so that when you change the ticker on one, the other charts also
change: Click on Tools Group Manager. Click on Add New and select the charts from
the list of objects, then Save Done.

Line up support/resistance levels, identify specific highs/lows


See news headlines for that security on a specific date
Left click and drag to zoom into an area
Toggle on/off any indicators

Gray Annotations button- applying your own analysis to any chart

Identify percent difference between two price points


Left click and drag for segmented, left click twice for extended
Identify support/resistance levels within a price range
Identify short-term momentum shifts within an overall trend
Apply arrows, rectangles, and circles to note your analysis
