Aircon is Eastern Indias one of the leading service provider in the field of
Electro-mechanical services such as Air-conditioning, Heating, Ventilation,
Refrigeration, Power conditioning, Electrical Sub-stations, Electrical
Building services, Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention systems, Plumbing &
Sanitation, Surveillance systems, Integrated Building Management Systems
and Office automation systems.
It has as its nucleus, a fusion of multidisciplinary technocrats, each with
exhaustive exposure to a wide spectrum of engineering and technical
consultancy services for a diversity of projects. The inherent strength

Aircon is headquartered in Kolkata with over 350 employees and is serving
customers around Eastern part of India. With its large customer base and
direct presence in all business segments and geography, Aircon have

Our core activities are design & detailed engineering, supply and
installation of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing projects, specifically
turnkey projects in :

Chillers and VRF along with ancillary equipments.

HISTORY
Aircon was founded in the year 1988 by Pradeep Mehta an IIM, Kolkata
graduate having vision and drive and wanted to expand and diversify
from his family business of Real Estate development.
When approached by the World Leaders in air-conditioning, Carrier, he
decided to take their dealership for the city of Kolkata. He started with
very modest staff strength of 3 persons one salesman, one service
personnel and he himself to sale and service Carrier brand of airconditioners.
In couple of years under his leadership, Aircon established themselves as a
prominent force in the Kolkata market. From a sales and service dealer of
Carrier it graduated to a Solution Partner giving solutions to medium size
commercial establishments for their air-conditioning needs with products
like Ductable Splits and Packaged air-conditioners.
Aircon was also appointed as a distributor for Carriers residential segment
products to the white goods retailers.
An expanding Aircon then ventured into the Orissa market. It was offered
a dealership of Carrier for Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas. Within three
years of operation in Orissa, Aircon spread its wings and started operating
in the entire coastal Orissa and then moved on to the industrial belt like
Keonjhar, Rourkela, Sambalpur as it had done earlier for the West Bengal
operations.
Always thriving for expansion and moving with times to find new
opportunities, Aircon started its office automation business with a
dealership of Canon, Japan for their range of Photocopiers, Printers, Fax
machines and Multi functional devices. Here also within couple of years of
starting the business the company established itself as a front runner.
The company also wanted its presence to be felt in the complex
requirement of air-conditioning of Telecom hubs, Data centers and
industrial PLC rooms and tied-up as a Solution Provider for the Italian major
in air-conditioning, Uniflair for their range of Precision air-conditioners, false
floors and specialized units for the Telecom shelters and simultaneously it
started its refrigeration division catering to the cold chain starting from
retail display freezers to industrial multi utility cold rooms.
Toshiba range of premium and advanced technology based VRF airconditioners were also brought in its fold to serve the industry with more
energy efficient and environment friendly products.
In 2001, the industrial group with highly qualified professionals was formed
to undertake turnkey air-conditioning, ventilation and heating projects.
Over a period of next five years the company positioned itself as a major
force to reckon in this field and has earned respect from the industry.
In 2004, Varun Mehta, son of Pradeep Mehta, a management graduate
from Cardiff UK joined the business. A renewed thrust was placed on the
companys core business areas and it increased its business multi folds.
With increased focus it moved ahead and started its MEP (Mechanical,
Electrical & Plumbing) wing once again entrusting the business to highly
qualified business professional from the same field.
In the latest effort towards expanding its business geographically, Aircon
has started operating in Jharkhand based at Jamshedpur and is also in
the process of setting up infrastructure in Guwahati to cater to the North
East market as it already have a significant installation base in that region.
The company leveraged its association with the world renowned brands
to grow aggressively. Aircon has almost doubled its turnover in next
couple of years achieving a Sales turnover of Rs. 550 million in the year
2010-11.
More than the size, Aircon enjoys an enviable reputation as an
organization involved in ethical business and fulfilling its obligation towards
its esteemed customers.

Chief Executive Officer
Amitabha is a mechanical engineer with 24 years experience in the field
of HVAC. He started his career as a design engineer under a reputed
consultant. Joined AIRCON in 1992 and has started the project business
division. Presently as the CEO, he spearheads the entire operation of
AIRCON. His technical and commercial understanding of the Companys
business has been key to the Companys success. Currently Amitabha is
the President of the Kolkata chapter of Indian Society of Heating,
Refrigeration and Airconditioning Engineers (ISHRAE).
