PREFACE
This Portfolio was created to provide compilation of all the learning that
Ive gained in Assessment of Learning 1&2. This shows the different output of
different activities in this course.
These different activities were made to asses and test our knowledge as
students effectively in different domain such as cognitive, psychomotor and
affective.
At the end of every lesson, a reflection or insights is done to reflect the
learning I gained on every topic. It also shows how and what are the ways we
do in order to finish the different activities.
This Portfolio may serves as the basis of my total learning in this subject.
INTRODUCTION
This Portfolio is the reflection of me because it shows all the outputs that
we have been tackled in Assessment of Learning 1 & 2. These outputs help me
to assess myself in different learning not only in teaching but also more on
quantitative and qualitative data in statistics.
This Portfolio may help me in the future reference with some information
that can be used in teaching.
SOMETHING ABOUT ME
Im Divina T. Alvarez. I was born and raised in Baliuag Bulacan. I had a
great childhood, my parents send me to school at an early age at St. Marys
College of Baliuag. I find schooling very fun and interesting, I love to join
school activities like quiz bee, dance troupe, and even sports, Im into table
tennis and volley ball.

LESSON 1
Assessment is the process of gathering information or
evidences about a students performance, over a period of time in
order to determine learning and mastery of skills.
Measurement is the quantitative process of assessing a students
performance.
Evaluation is the qualitative process of assessing a students
performance.
Testing process where in set of items or competencies are
measured to determine the extent of a students performance.
TYPES OF ASSESSMENT
Direct Assessment measures the exact or specific identified
learning outcomes
Indirect Assessment opinion or thoughts whether knowledge, skills
and attitudes have been acquired by the students.
TYPES OF MEASUREMENT
Objective requires specific knowledge.
Subjective requires understanding or expression of opinion.
TYPES OF EVALUATION
Diagnostic done before instruction to determine strength and
weaknesses of students in the subject or lesson.
Formative done during instruction or immediately after instruction.
Summative done at the end of the instruction, over a period of time,
to test the mastery of skills or knowledge.
IMPORTANCE OF EVALUATION
Feedback to Students
Feedback to Teachers
Feedback to Parents
Provides information for selection purposes
Provides the accountability of teachers and schools
Provides incentive to students
REFLECTION IN LESSON 1
The first lesson I have encountered in Assessment of
Learning
is
about
the
Assessment
itself.
What
is
Assessment? I have learned that it is the many ways of the
teacher to gather information to their students. And these
information will serve as a guide on how will a teacher would
evaluate and give the appropriate grades to their students.
Assessing students over a period of time will help the
teachers determine the learning and mastery of skills of the
students.
I also learned the three important reasons on why do we
assess and these are; to improve, to inform, and to prove.
LESSON 2
INTERDEPENDENCE OF TEACHING LEARNING AND
EVALUATION
Learning Outcome it can be demonstrated
OBE Outcomes Based Education
Constructivist Model Students are the one who is responsible to
their own learning.
As the concept of Learning Outcomes implies the act of
demonstrating, it is obvious that the assessment of learning
outcomes should be closely link to what can be demonstrated by
students.
Characteristics of OBE
Student Centered
Faculty Driven
Meaningful
How to Implement OBE
1. Identify the educational objectives of the subject or
course.
2. List learning outcomes
3. Draft outcomes assessment procedure
REFLECTION IN LESSON 2
In this lesson I have learned that the shift of
educational focus from content to learning outcome is, if there
is meaningful learning, the content is useful.
Learning Outcomes can be demonstrated, through
Outcomes Based Education, and for us to shift, we should apply
Constructivist Model where in here the students are the one
who works and discover. The students are the one who is
responsible for their own learning while the teachers will serve
as the facilitator and guide.
For me, the constructivist model is much better because
it makes the students to be more responsible. I believe that
more students are being interested to learn if they are
involved unlike in spoon feeding where in the teacher does all
the work, students just listen and this may lead them to
boredom.

REFLECTION IN LESSON 4
In this Lesson we have tackled about how important the Lesson
Plan is. I have learned that as a teacher it is important to have a
lesson plan, because it will make your teaching organized, this will
serve as a pattern on how you will be able to do the instruction. It is
also important and a must that a teacher will come up with a good
lesson plan. A good lesson plan must have a SMART (specific,
measurable,
attainable,
result
oriented
and
time
bound)
characteristics where in the objectives will enchance the cognitive
domain as well as the psychomotor domain but not only that, it
should also enchance the affective domain where in you can infuse a
moral values to your students.
