HAIKU
Candle

Just like a candle

You came and lit up the room
Like one, you vanished

Sonnet
Stand-up

The sky was trembling

Everything was falling apart
She lied on her bed crumbling
There was a big hole in her heart
She did everything to fix things
But wasnt prepared for what life brings
Now she crawls
Slowly she recalls
The pain she endured

And the ruthless things she has heard

I will get better. She promised
She gathered the strength to stand up
Forgot about things that mattered the least
And bury everything up

Free Verse
Sunlight

I still wait for the sun

The sun that brightens the day
Enrages the soul
And inflames the heart

Cinquain
Us

Your eyes
I remember
As you stare right past me,
Its as if I do not exist
Do I?

Short Story
St. Patrick

Please, can you keep your voices down? Patrick murmurs as he was awoken by
the voices of everybody in the room. He opens his eyes and gets up his bed.
Confused of what he is seeing, he closed his eyes once more and opened it. He was
in a hospital room. Terrified, he quickly jumped off his bed and asked for the doctor.
Carefully, the nurse approached Patrick and told him to calm down and sit on the
bed as the nurse slowly explains to Patrick that he was in a coma for two years.
Stunned by this news. Patrick went hysterical, he blasted the nurse with numerous
questions. He asked what really happened to him. What day it is. Where his wife is.
Where his parents are. But the nurse just stood still. Infuriated by the nurses
silence, Patrick moved towards her and grabbed her right arm, squeezing it as he
wants the nurse to answer him back. Clouded by his anger, Patrick sees an image
on his mind. He sees a little girl trapped in a room, crying for help as the fire was
blazing through their house. He suddenly snapped back to reality and let go of the
nurse. He was breathing heavily. The nurse quickly put him on his bed and tried to
calm him down. Feeling ashamed of what he just did, Patrick apologized to the
nurse and told her the image that he saw.
As Patrick was describing the room he saw, the nurse began to recognize it as hers.
Feeling uneasy of what she just heard, the nurse rushed to leave the hospital. She
saw firetrucks stationed everywhere in their community. She rushed to their house
and was overwhelmed to see her daughter safe and unharmed. Relieved, the nurse
went back to the hospital and thanked Patrick.
The nurse now tells Patrick the accident that happened to him two years ago. She
narrates to Patrick how a horrific car crash led to the death of nine people including
his wife and his parents and how he miraculously survived it. This left Patrick dazed
for a couple of hours. The nurse was starting to worry as Patrick was not responding
to anything anymore so she quickly called the attention of Patricks doctor. As the
nurse explained to the doctor what happened, the doctor shook his head, kept his
head down and said Darling, Patrick already left us two days ago.
