1 Do not use this apparatus near water.

2 Clean only with dry cloth.

6 Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or

grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades

with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has
two blades and a third grounding prong, The wide blade
or the third prong are provided for your safety.

14 CAUTION concerning the Power Cord (Can differ by

country):
It is recommended that appliances be placed upon a
dedicated circuit; that is, a single outlet circuit which
powers only that appliance and has no additional outlets
or branch circuits. Check the specification page of this
owners manual to be certain. Do not connect too many
appliances to the same AC power outlet as this could
result in fire or electric shock. Do not overload wall outlets.
Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged wall outlets,
extension cords, frayed power cords, or damaged or
cracked wire insulation are dangerous. Any of these
conditions could result in electric shock or fire.
Periodically examine the cord of your appliance, and if its

15 WARNING
Use only the power cord supplied with the unit. If you use
another power cord, make sure that it is certified by the
applicable national standards when not provided by the
supplier. If the power cable is faulty in any way, please
contact the manufacturer or the nearest authorized
repair service provider for a replacement.

16 WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not
expose this product to rain, moisture or other liquids. Do
not touch the apparatus with wet hands. Do not install
this product near flammable objects such as gasoline or
candles or expose the apparatus to direct air
conditioning.

17 Do no expose to dripping or splashing and do not place

objects filled with liquids, such as vases, cups, etc. on or
over the apparatus (e.g. on shelves above the unit).

18 GROUNDING
Ensure that you connect the earth ground wire to prevent
possible electric shock (i.e. a apparatus with a threeprong grounded AC plug must be connected to a threeprong grounded AC power outlet). If grounding methods
are not possible, have a qualified electrician install a
separate circuit breaker.
Do not try to ground the unit by connecting it to
telephone wires, lightening rods, or gas pipes.

19 DISCONNECTING DEVICE FROM MAINS

Mains plug is the disconnecting device. The plug must
remain readily operable.
20 CLEANING
When cleaning, unplug the power cord and scrub gently
with a soft cloth to prevent scratching. Do not spray
water or other liquids directly on the apparatus as electric
shock may occur. Do not clean with chemicals such as
alcohol, thinners or benzene.
21 MOVING
Make sure the product is turned off, unplugged and all
cables have been removed. It may take 2 or more people
to carry larger apparatus. Do not press against or put
stress on the front panel of the apparatus.
22 Ventilation
Install your TV where there is proper ventilation. Do not
install in a confined space such as a bookcase. Do not
cover the product with cloth or other materials while
plugged. Do not install in excessively dusty places.

25 ON DISPOSAL
The fluorescent lamp used in this product contains a
small amount of mercury.
Do not dispose of this product with general household

accordance to the regulations of your local authority.
26 MOUNTING ON A WALL
Do not install this product by yourself. Contact the service
technician qualified by the Manufacturer.
It may cause injuries
27 Using headsets (earphones) for a long time or listening
loudly can cause damage to your hearing.
28 When mounting a TV on the wall, make sure not to install
the TV by hanging the power and signal cables on the
back of the TV.
29 Keep the packing anti-moisture material or vinyl packing
out of the reach of children. Anti-moisture material is
harmful if swallowed. If swallowed by mistake, force
the patient to vomit and visit the nearest hospital.
Additionally, vinyl packing can cause suffocation. Keep it
out of the reach of children.
30 Do not stick metal objects or any other conductive
material into the power cord. Do not touch the end of the
power cord while it is plugged in.
31 Do not attempt to modify this product in any way without
written authorization from LG Electronics. Unauthorized
modification could void the users authority to operate
this product.
32 ANTENNAS Outdoor antenna grounding
(Can differ by country):
If an outdoor antenna is installed, follow the precautions
below. An outdoor antenna system should not be located
in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric
light or power circuits, or where it can come in contact
with such power lines or circuits as death or serious injury
can occur. Be sure the antenna system is grounded so as
to provide some protection against voltage surges and
built-up static charges. Section 810 of the National
Electrical Code (NEC) in the U.S.A. provides information
with respect to proper grounding of the mast and
supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to
an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors,
location of antenna discharge unit, connection to
grounding electrodes and requirements for the grounding
electrode. Antenna grounding according to the National
Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.

33 DOT DEFECT
The Plasma or LCD panel is a high technology product
with resolution of two million to six million pixels. In a
very few cases, you could see fine dots on the screen
while youre viewing the TV. Those dots are deactivated
pixels and do not affect the performance and reliability of
the TV.
34 GENERATED SOUND
Cracking noise: A cracking noise that occurs when
watching or turning off the TV is generated by plastic
thermal contraction due to temperature and humidity.
This noise is common for products where thermal
deformation is required.
Electrical circuit humming/panel buzzing: A low level
noise is generated from a high-speed switching circuit,
which supplies a large amount of current to operate a
product. It varies depending on the product.
This generated sound does not affect the performance
and reliability of the product.
- Take care not to touch the ventilation openings. When
watching the TV for a long period, the ventilation
openings may become hot. This does not affect the
performance of the product or cause defects in the
product.
- If the TV feels cold to the touch, there may be a small
flicker when it is turned on. This is normal, there is
nothing wrong with TV. Some minute dot defects may be
visible on the screen, appearing as tiny red, green, or blue
spots. However, they have no adverse effect on the TVs
performance. Avoid touching the LCD screen or holding
your finger(s) against it for long periods of time. Doing so
may produce some temporary distortion effects on the
screen.
35 If a fixed image displays on the TV screen for a long
period of time, it will be imprinted and become a
permanent disfigurement on the screen. This is image
burn or burn-in and not covered by the warranty.
If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long period
of time, image burn may occur on
the letterboxed area of the screen.
Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a
long period of time (2 or more hours for LCD, 1 or more
hours for the Plasma TV) to prevent image burn."
36 This reminder is provided to call the CATV system
installers attention to Article 820-40 of the National
Electric Code (U.S.A.). The code provides guidelines for
proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the
cable ground shall be connected to the grounding
system of the building, as close to the point of the cable
entry as practical.
37 Do not press strongly upon the panel with your hand or a
sharp object such as a nail, pencil or pen, or make a
scratch on it.
38 Keep the product away from direct sunlight.

lautre. Une fiche de mise la terre est dote de deux
broches et dune troisime broche pour la mise la terre.
La broche plus large est celle de mise la terre et est
prsente pour votre scurit. Si la fiche fournie ne rentre
pas dans la prise secteur, contactez un lectricien pour
quil remplace cette prise.

14 PRCAUTION CONCERNANT LE CORDON
DALIMENTATION:
Il est recommand de brancher les appareils sur un
circuit ddi, autrement dit un circuit comportant une
prise de courant qui alimente uniquement cet appareil et
qui na ni autres prises ni circuit driv. Reportez-vous
la page des spcifications de ce manuel dutilisation pour
plus de dtails. Ne raccordez pas un trop grand nombre
dappareils la mme prise secteur, car cela peut
entraner un incendie ou un choc lectrique. Ne
surchargez pas les prises murales. Les prises murales
surcharges, desserres ou endommages, les cbles de
rallonge, les cordons dalimentation effilochs, ou les
gaines isolantes craqueles ou endommages
constituent un danger. Chacune de ces conditions peut
entraner un risque de choc lectrique ou dincendie.
Examinez rgulirement le cordon de votre appareil.
Sil parat endommag ou dtrior, dbranchez-le,
cessez dutiliser lappareil et faites remplacer le cordon
par un cordon strictement identique auprs dun point de
service aprs-vente agr. Protgez le cordon
dalimentation de sorte quil ne puisse pas tre tordu,
entortill, pinc, coinc dans une porte ou pitin. Faites
particulirement attention aux fiches, aux prises murales
et au point do sort le cordon de lappareil.
Ne dplacez pas le moniteur lorsque le cordon
dalimentation est branch. Nutilisez pas un cordon
dalimentation endommag ou desserr. Veillez tenir la
fiche lorsque vous dbranchez le cordon dalimentation.
Ne tirez pas sur le cordon dalimentation pour dbrancher
le moniteur.

15 AVERTISSEMENT
Pour nettoyer le produit, dbranchez le cordon de secteur
et frotter doucement avec un chiffon doux pour prvenir
toute raflure. Ne nettoyez pas avec un chiffon humide et
ne pulvrisez ni eau ni autres liquides directement sur le
produit. Une dcharge lectrique peut se produire.
(Nemployez pas de produits chimiques tels que le
benzne, les diluants pour peinture ou lalcool)

18 MISE LA TERRE
Veillez raccorder le fil de mise la terre afin de prvenir
un ventuel choc lectrique (autrement dit, un moniteur
dot dune fiche dalimentation de mise la terre trois
broches doit tre raccord une prise secteur avec mise
la terre trois broches). Sil nest pas possible
dappliquer une mthode de mise la terre, faites
installer un disjoncteur distinct par un lectricien qualifi.
Nessayez pas de relier lappareil la terre en le
raccordant aux fils tlphoniques, un paratonnerre ou
aux conduites de gaz.

19 DCONNEXION DE LAPPAREIL DU RSEAU

Vous devez dbrancher lappareil de la prise principale.
La prise doit demeurer disponible et fonctionnelle.
20 NETTOYAGE
Lorsque vous nettoyez le moniteur, dbranchez le cordon
dalimentation et essuyez dlicatement lcran laide
dun chiffon doux pour viter les rayures. Ne vaporisez
pas deau ni dautres liquides directement sur le
moniteur, car cela pourrait provoquer un choc lectrique.
Ne nettoyez pas le tlviseur avec des produits
chimiques tels que de lalcool, des diluants ou du
benzne.
21 DPLACEMENT DE LAPPAREIL
Assurez-vous que lappareil est teint et dbranch et
que tous les cbles ont t retirs.
Deux personnes ou plus peuvent tre ncessaires pour
transporter un moniteur de grande taille. Nappuyez pas
sur le panneau avant du tlviseur.

respect de la rglementation des autorits locales.
26 MONTAGE MURAL
N'installez pas ce produit vous-mme. Communiquez
avec le technicien de service agr par le fabricant.
Vous risqueriez de vous blesser.
27 L'utilisation prolonge d'un casque (ou d'couteurs) ou
l'coute des volumes trop forts peut endommager
votre oue.
28 Lors du montage du tlviseur au mur, assurez-vous de
ne pas le suspendre l'aide du cble de signal ou
d'alimentation se trouvant l'arrire du tlviseur.
29 Gardez le matriel anti-humidit et le matriel
d'emballage en vinyle hors de la porte des enfants. Le
matriel anti-humidit est dangereux pour la sant s'il est
aval. S'il est aval par erreur, forcez le patient vomir et
rendez-vous l'hpital le plus proche. De plus, le matriel
d'emballage en vinyle peut entraner la suffocation.
Gardez-le hors de la porte des enfants.
30 N'insrez pas d'objet mtallique ou conducteur dans le
cble d'alimentation. Ne touchez pas l'extrmit du
cordon d'alimentation lorsqu'il est branch.
31 Ne pas tenter de modifier ce produit d'aucune manire
sans avoir obtenu au pralable l'autorisation crite de
LGElectronics. Une modification non autorise pourrait
annuler l'autorisation d'utiliser ce produit.
32 ANTENNES Mise la masse d'antennes extrieures
(Peut varier selon le pays):
Si une antenne extrieure est installe, suivez les
prcautions ci-dessous. Un systme d'antennes
extrieures ne devrait pas se trouver proximit des
lignes ariennes d'lectricit, de d'autres clairages
lectriques ou de circuits d'alimentation, ou un endroit
o il peut entrer en contact avec de telles lignes
lectriques ou de tels circuits d'alimentation, puisque des
blessures graves, voire la mort, pourraient se produire.
Assurez-vous que le systme d'antennes est mis la
terre, afin de fournir une certaine protection contre les
surtensions et les accumulations de charge d'lectricit
statique. La section 810 du Code national de l'lectricit
(NEC) aux tats-Unis fournit des informations relatives
la procdure conforme de mise la terre du mt et de la
structure d'appui, du cble d'entre l'lment de sortie
antenne, au format des fils de terre, la position de
l'lment de sortie antenne, au branchement des
lectrodes de masse, ainsi qu'aux exigences de mise la
masse de l'lectrode. Mise la terre de l'antenne en vertu
du code lectrique national, ANSI/NFPA 70.

33 Dfaut de point
Un cran plasma ou ACL est un produit de haute
technologie prsentant une rsolution de deux six
millions de pixels. Dans de rares cas, on pourrait voir de
petits points sur l'cran lors du visionnement. Ces points
sont des pixels dsactivs ne nuisant pas la
performance et la fiabilit du tlviseur.
SON PRODUIT
Craquement : un craquement survenant pendant le
visionnement ou lors de l'arrt du tlviseur est produit
par une contraction thermique plastique cause par la
chaleur ou l'humidit. Ce bruit est courant dans les
produits o une dformation thermique est requise.
Bourdonnement de circuit ou de panneau lectrique : un
bruit trs faible est produit par un circuit commutateur
haute vitesse fournissant une grande quantit de courant
pour faire fonctionner un produit. Il varie selon le produit.
Ce son ne nuit aucunement la performance ou la
fiabilit du produit.
- Prenez soin de ne pas toucher aux ouvertures de
ventilation. Lorsque le tlviseur fonctionne pendant de
longues priodes, les ouvertures de ventilation peuvent
devenir chaudes. Cela ne nuit aucunement la
performance du produit et ne l'endommage pas.
- Si le tlviseur est froid au toucher, il peut y avoir un
lger sautillement quand on l'allume. Cela est
normal; le tlviseur n'est pas dfectueux. Pendant
quelques minutes, des dfauts de point peuvent tre
visibles l'cran, apparaissant comme de petites taches
rouges, vertes ou bleues. Toutefois, ils ne produisent
aucun effet indsirable sur la performance du tlviseur.
vitez de toucher l'cran ACL ou de mettre vos doigts
dessus pendant une longue priode de temps. Cela
pourrait produire un effet de distorsion l'cran
35 Une image fige lcran pendant de longues priodes
peut causer une image fantme et endommager
dfinitivement votre cran. Ce phnomne n'est pas
couvert par la garantie.
Si le format d'image de votre tlviseur est rgl sur 4:3
pendant une priode prolonge, il est possible qu'une
image rmanente apparaisse dans la zone propre ce
format.
Pour viter tout problme d'image rmanente, vitez de
laisser une image fixe affiche l'cran pendant des
priodes prolonges (2 heures ou plus pour les crans
ACL, 1 heure ou plus pour les tlviseurs plasma).
36 Nous dsirons attirer l'attention des installateurs de
rseaux cbls sur l'article 820-40 du Code national de
l'lectricit (NEC) concernant la mise la terre de tels
rseaux, et en particulier sur le fait que le cble doit tre
reli au systme de terre du btiment aussi prs qu'il est
possible de son point d'entre.
37 vitez d'appuyer fortement sur l'cran avec une main ou
un objet pointu, comme un ongle, un crayon ou un stylo,
et vitez d'gratigner l'cran.
38 vitez que le produit ne soit expos la lumire solaire
directe.

Ne linstallez pas dans un espace confin tel quune
bibliothque. Ne recouvrez pas lappareil de tissu ou
dautre matire (telle que du plastique) lorsquil est

excessivement poussireux.
