Jeep, the registered trademark of Chrysler, carries the reputation of providing the most
popular off-road experience. The website itself says it all. The home page offers a sort of first-
hand look at what could be expected. Jeep is intended to pursue a general genre of readers. From
several aspects of the home page, it is clearly intended for those that enjoy the outdoors. Each
image presented has the various styles of Jeeps looking over a catalogue of assorted terrains. It
leads the reader to assume that with the help of a Jeep, they themselves are capable to withstand
any and every possible environment, from beaches to mountains. Its intended reader’s interests
and values are simply the pleasure of pursuing an off road experience and hauling a rough image.
The site is also interactive which allows the information needed easy to access and simple to
understand. Once the readers fall in love with a Jeep and the future outdoors adventures, the site
provides comprehensive instructions on how to become an owner as soon as possible.
Scion, the official trademark of Toyota, is intended for a fairly different spectrum of readers.
Upon asking several individuals what they think of when they hear Scion, the majority of them
said descriptive words like ‘speed’, ‘race’, and ‘custom’. Details from the Scion webpage say
that Scion is intended for a younger audience. An audience comprised of young people will be
more attracted to the subculture represented in the website like techno music scene, car racing,
and car modification. Also, Scion tries to appeal to young audience by making the website
