This section describes the hardware and network requirements for Oracle Business Intelligence.
Oracle
has certified acceptable performance in these environments; however, performance is improved by
using faster processors and additional memory, particularly in environments where users run multiple
applications simultaneously.

Applications log and output files
Oracle ERP Suit products generate log and output files during runtime. The disk space
needed varies with the number of users and transactions, and depends on how frequently
you purge these files. Consult the product-specific documentation for more information.
Temporary directories and files
For runtime, Oracle ERP requires temporary disk space. Rapid Install sets the temporary
directory based on the value you supply on node-specific settings screens.
For example, each concurrent manager writes temporary parameter files, Oracle Reports
writes temporary format files, and Oracle Forms writes temporary buffer records.
For installation time temporary disk space, Rapid Install uses the TEMP variable to define
the temp directory.

Installing Multiple SOA Middle Tiers with a Remote Oracle HTTP Server
It adds an additional OC4J instance with the SOA Suite, as shown in Figure. When you install
this cluster topology, you install Oracle HTTP Server on one computer, install OC4J and SOA
Suite instances on two separate computers, and specify cluster settings. You designate one of
the OC4J instances as the Administration OC4J instance for running the Application Server
Control Console. You manage both OC4J instances from this instance of Application Server
Control Console.
