Skills and Accomplishments

Programming
Designed programs and GUIs in Matlab to solve ODEs and manipulate plots
Numerically solved and plotted non-linear PDEs with Mathematica in order to model the velocity
and temperature of an experiment involving natural convection
Collected and performed statistical analyses of lab data using Excel
Designed a distillation tower on Aspen HYSYS to calculate separation efficiency

Projects and Teamwork
Collaborated with the National Society of Black Engineers and the Center for Black Studies to build
an easily reproducible egg incubator for farmers in Burkina Faso
Assembled the first egg incubator with a team of other scientists and engineers
Improved heat insulation of the incubator by using wood as the medium instead of Styrofoam and
calculating the heat flux out
Coordinated with social scientists to analyze the living conditions in Burkina Faso and adjusted
incubator design methods based on that information

Writing
Designed a solar thermal plant and wrote an executive summary detailing process specifications
and justifications for them
Authored technical reports with quantitative error analyses of labs, discussion of results, and
conclusions
