XIV. Gantt Chart

This document outlines a proposed networking design for the computer laboratory at Cipriano P. Sta. Teresa Elementary School. It includes an introduction, historical background of the school, organizational charts, existing issues with the current setup including slow connections and lack of security, and a proposed solution of installing a wireless LAN router/switch to connect the computers. The proposal estimates costs and recommends implementing the new network and adding more computers to utilize available space. It acknowledges those who helped with the project.

Introduction
In this generation, we are now using computers to communicate. But for us to

communicate, computers must communicate on each other too. That is the use of
networking. Networking is commonly used to connect one PC to another in terms of
sharing files and data. Mostly, it is used for business, office and educational purposes.
There are certain kinds of networking, in other word, topologies. There are Bus
topology, star topology, and ring topology.

Nowadays, students are studying networking in order to establish more

knowledge about computers and how it communicates. Helping the society to excel and
grow. Some of the examples are proposing new, better, and more efficient networks for
companies, school computer laboratories, and other facilities that using networking.
Bagumbayan Elementary was one of the 12 public schools in Taguig City that has
the Cyber Lab. This cyber lab has 41 units for the students be able to use during their
computer class. But as the same as other laboratory problem, the cyber lab of this
school also has complicated wirings, not enough security system, not having enough
memory to process data. These are some of occurring problem that may lessen the
effectiveness of the cyber lab.

Historical Background
Cipriano P. Sta.Teresa Bagumbayan Elementary School

Bagumbayan Elementary School started in the year 1920 with only two rooms in the
old house of sta. Teresa family.
Mrs. Sta.Teresa seeks the help of Amang Rodriguez Sr. to build additional rooms
with the help of the municipal Government. The Bagumbayan Elementary School was
improved and became a real public school in the community. Most teachers were from
Pateros and Taguig.
Considering the achievement attained by intended honoree, the late Col. Cipriano P.
Sta.Teresa can be considered as one among the compendium of the best in the best in
the field of civic work and nation building .But the greater significance for the young
people and succeeding generation simulate is his all consuming love and sympathy for
the poorest among the poor when he with sheer patience and determination convinced
prominent citizen and lot owners in the community to donate portions of their lands
where now Bagumbayan Elementary School stands.
It was last September 15, 1995 when renaming of Bagumbayan Elementary School
to that Cipriano P. Sta.Teresa Elementary School was made and the inauguration of
which was held at Bagumbyan, Taguig last September 26, 1995.

Topology

There are no topology implemented in their existing or current network and file
sharing management. They use a wifi modem and an antenna that is installed to
each of the unit to receive a wireless internet connection from the wifi modem which
they use to transfer data using email or flash drive.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The Study covers the Networking of Cyber Lab in Cipriano P. Sta. Teresa

Elementary School particularly in the connection of the server to the Computer used by
the students. The purpose of the study is to learn about networking they use and the
connection of computers to others and to the server.

The Study will not cover the whole campus and the other pc using by the
teachers and other staff of mentioned school. the study only focused in the Cyber Lab of
Cipriano P. Sta. Teresa Elementary School.

Problem and solution

Problem
1.Cant exchange
data without
internet
2.Dont have printer
3.Unit is infested by
virus
4. No Rules and
Regulations while
inside the
laboratory
5. No CCTV
Cameras
6. Slow connection
problem
7.Dont have fire
extinguishers
8. Not enough RAM
to process data
9.The software is
not updated (e.g.
Microsoft
application)
10. No IT specialist

Existing Solution
Used flash drive or
sending using email
They go to the principal
office to print files
Format the Unit
Teachers always monitor
their students
Teachers always monitor

Refreshing the router

Proposed Solution
Install a wireless LAN router/switch
Buy printer
Install Anti-virus, Format the unit
Informing the students to the Dos and Donts
within the area.

The school administrator should provide CCTV to

monitor the area most especially during class hours.
Use higher Mbps
Buy fire extinguishers
Upgraded RAMs for the faster processing of data
The school should update the software they are
using
An I.T will provide the technical support of the
laboratory

XII. Summary
Nowadays, students are studying networking in order to establish more knowledge about
computers and how it communicates. Helping the society to excel and grow. Some of the
examples are proposing new, better, and more efficient networks for companies, school computer
laboratories, and other facilities that using networking.

Elementary schools like Bagumbayan Elementary school are schools that have computer
laboratory. We conduct an interview studying the network used in their laboratory. Weve noticed
that there are no existing networks on their computer laboratory. So we proposed a network that
will benefit their computer laboratory. So far we have plans that are waiting to be implemented.

XIII. Recommendation:
We recommend using LAN in terms of connections of computers for a consistent and
convenient computer laboratory. For the space, we recommend to add more units for the space
not being use wont be a waste.

XIV. Acknowledgement
First of all, we would like to thank the almighty God for giving us hope and faith on
ourselves for finishing this project. We would also thank our family that keeps supporting us
thoroughly in terms of finance. And also Mr. Leonardo Eboa Jr., who gave us opportunity to
study the schools computer laboratory and accepting our proposal. And lastly, were thanking
Mr. Arnold Jallorina for teaching us everything concerning this project.
