Role: To monitor, interact, and take prior actions on the Production and test
LPARs along with batch operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Console Monitoring and batch operations
Performing weekend maintenance and IPL at month end.
Escalate job abend /failures , CICS transaction abend to the
Production Support Team.
Handling the Ad hoc requests through mail.
Managing JES2 SPOOL resources.
As a Batch operator:
1. Performing Week end maintenance window which includes running
of back up jobs by bringing down the online regions and database.
2. Performing IPL at month end in both the LPAR.
3. Monitor HMC hardware error messages at regular intervals for any
hardware failures.
4. Performing the analysis of the cause for various jobs abend and
have taking immediate action for the same.
Console Monitoring
1. Monitoring 2 production LPAR and 4 test LPAR for any alert and error
messages .
2. Reporting tape operations whenever there is tape mount message along with
the tape drive and tape volser.
3. Swapping the tape drive if required.
4. Varying the tape drive from ONLINE to OFFLINE and vice versa.
5. Bringing UP the CICS region is requested.
6. Performing taking dump from the filled in dump dataset.
7. Clearing the filled in dump dataset if dump is not required.
8. Raising IBM hardware tickets whenever there is problem in hardware such
tape drive, network cables etc.,
Zeke Scheduling
1.
Schedule a new job based on the programmer
requirement with sequence of predecessor and successor.
2.
Calendar and Holliday update on yearly basics.
3.
Manage variables for new schedule jobs for the
requirements and defining the logical resource for the jobs.
4.
Changing the schedule of a job for a particular day or
period.
5.
Acted as security admin for ZEKE, ZEBB and ZARA.
6.
Licence Key update for Scheduling tool.
HPSM
1. Re-routing the miss-routed ticket to appropriate group.
2. Updating and changing the status of Incidents/Request/Change as
per the process.
3. Opening new Incident/Request to other groups if necessary.
Changeman and Endevor
1. Worked as a Administrator of Changeman and Endevour.
2. Approve, Rollback and casting the package for new production
move programs or major correction with the existing programs due to
production impact based on the RFC.
Systemware and IOF
1. Monitor whether the migration happening on regular basis to
manage the Resource manager (SPOOL-RM) within the threshold limit.
2. If the jobs output are rolled of from the system, will restore the job
back to Spool or IOF with the help of JCL for RCA purpose.
