Francesca Woodman: Surreal Influence

Francesca Woodman was an American photographer born in 1958 who studied surrealism and commonly photographed young nude women with blurred or obscured faces merging with their surroundings using slow shutter speeds and extreme contrast to create surreal images. She committed suicide in 1981 but is now considered one of the most influential photographers as her work is still widely studied and discussed today for how it blurred appearances and cracked codes of reality.
