MINI PROJECT

CLD 20002 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH

INSTRUCTION
I.
CHOOSE THE EXPERIMENT FOR YOUR GROUP; WRITE YOUR NAME ON THE LIST
AT THE NOTICE BOARD.
II.
THIS ASSIGNMENT TO BE DONE IN GROUP OF FOUR (4).
III.
PREPARE JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (JSA) FOR THE SELECTED EXPERIMENT USING
FORM GIVEN
a. Read the experiment (the manual).
b. List ALL activities and sub-activities in Form A. {Activity or sub-activity
must have 2 or more job steps / task. In this experiment MAY have several
activities].
c. Analyze / identify hazard, consequences and effective control measures
for each job steps using Form B.
IV.
SUBMISSION:
a. Report consist of introduction, discussion of JSA, conclusion and
references (total 6, not more than 2 webpage) hard & soft copy.
a. Chosen laboratory manual hard copy.
b. ALL completed form A and B - hard & soft copy.
c. Slide presentation {printing: 3 slides per page} - hard & soft copy
AND Presentation assessment form as front page of slide
presentation (hard copy).
d. Each group must submit a CD {contain ALL the above mentioned by 28th
November 2014 DURING LECTURE. Late submission will not be
accepted.
e. Soft copy to kept in CD with proper identification and storage
i. All CD must be kept in a CD non woven cover not envelope.
ii. The following information must be written on the CD with
permanent marker
Name & ID of the student in the group.
The number chosen experiment.

V.

METHOD OF ASSESSMENT :
a. PRESENTATION on JSA done.
b. Each team is given 10 - 15 minutes ( 1 minute) to present. Less or more
time taken will cause in mark deduction.
c. The following are the criteria that will be assessed in your presentation.
iii. Delivery of the presentation: volume of the presenter, rate of
the presenter, clear & understandable pronunciations.
iv. Organization of presentation.

v. Content of presentation: comprehensiveness of hazards


identified, control measures etc.
vi. Language: grammar and vocabulary used during presentation.

d. The following is a Speaking rubric as a requirement in good presentation.
