Electric Power Transmission & Distribution
A synergy between technical and economic skills.
An added value for electric utilities.
With more than 90 years of experience, AECOM works with
more than 300 power utilities in over 50 countries around the
world.
Our clients are both network owners, such as transmission
and distribution utilities, and network users, such as
generators, electricity consumers and rail network operators.
We are a world leader in the provision of environmental and
engineering services for power transmission and distribution
(T&D) infrastructure.
We focus on system reliability through asset management,
system renewal and asset whole-of-life program
development, which is dedicated to managing the
performance of the aging T&D infrastructure.
Our team of engineers, planners and environmental
specialists provides a full set of services required within the
electricity supply industry. We specialize in environment and
property services, institutional reform and development,
strategic planning, power systems analysis, power quality,
project feasibility development, detailed design and
construction supervision for networks of national scale and
for all system voltages up to 800 kV.
Our T&D team is active in realizing a 21st century energy grid
economy that is founded on comprehensive utilization of
renewable energy, distributed generation and demand-side
participation. We help fulfill the promise of a sustainable
future through lowering the carbon emissions of the power
sector.

including studies, engineering, works supervision and
commissioning of the completed installation. Training in these
fields as well as in network maintenance and operations is
also available.
We have carried out studies, detailed engineering and
construction supervision for over 40,000 kilometers of power
transmission lines and a great number of transformer and
converter stations with voltages up to 800 kV in alternating
current and 500 kV in direct current, under climates ranging
from those of tropical regions to areas with extreme Nordic
conditions.
We also provide turnkey services covering studies and
engineering of all components of power transmission grid,
including AC and DC substations.
