attractions in the brazilian territory. There are plenty of fantastic
unforgettable sites, and knowing that, we start to select wich one of those
should be included in this list of 10 places that can be well visited, with
any troubles.
From the youngest capital of Brasilia until the Old Historic Center of the
beautifull city of Olinda, there are places that can make an amazing
brazilian trip for all travelers in this part of the globe. Just take your time to
checkout the most famous touristic places in my country!
10 - THE CAPITAL - BRASLIA
This young city was just planned and developed in early 1956 by Lcio
Costa and Oscar Niemeyer. On abril of 1960 it was formally proclaimed
as Brazil's capital. This is the largest city in the world that didn't exist at
the beginning of the 20th century. The city hosts the Brazilian
Government and also the headquarters of lots of Brazilian Companies.
There are thousands of places to visit and things to do here: you can visit
the Square of Three Powers, walk around the shore of Lake Parano,
take your time to see the beautifull views form the Palace of the
Dawn (Palcio da Alvorada), or take a car tour around the Embassy
Sector, that hosts 124 foreign embassies.
9 - JERICOACOARA - CEAR
Jericoacoara is an hidden place in the brazilian northwest state of Cear.
Far 350 km from the capital of Fortaleza, this little sandy-streets town is
one of the most beautifull places in Brazil and have plenty stuffs to do. By
the year 1985, the place was just an isolated fishing village, hidden
among huge sand dunes and mobile. Around that time tourism was
discovered. Jericoacoara has splendid scenery. Built between huge sand
dunes and the sea, is one of the few places in Brazil where you can
watch the sun rise in the ocean, due to its peninsular location. There are
lots os lakes and lagoons made with rain sweet water that are very very
recommended!
8 - HISTORIC CENTER OF OLINDA
The Historic Center of Olinda covers the area of the historic Brazilian
town of Olinda, in Pernambuco state. The preservation of this historic site
began in the 1930s, when major monuments were listed as national
heritage sites. From there was promoted several actions to preserve all
the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of the municipality.
7 - MORRO DE SO PAULO - BAHIA
Another amazing brazilian site: be welcome in the little town of Morro de
So Paulo, one of the five villages of the Tinhar islands far 2 hours from
the city of Salvador, in the brazilian northwest. The way to visit this place
is just catching a boat in the city of Valena. You can also fly from
Salvador to the little airport in the Morro de So Paulo Island. The good
stuff: cars here are forbidden, so be prepared to enjoy lots of natural
places! The island's beaches are very fancy and easily named First,
Second, Third and Fourth beach.
6 - PANTANAL AND BANANAL ISLAND
Located in the Western Brazil, but extending into Bolivia is the Pantanal,
one of the world's largest and most diverse freshwater wetland
ecosystems. To visit this place, the tourist get to go to Campo Grande, in
the state of Cuiab (Brazil's center-west) and reach the city of Corumb.
From each one of this cities you can visit the most beautifull places: from
Campo Grande you can go to Bonito and Cuib is the gateway
for Chapada dos Guimares. If you get a little bit more of time to explore
this places, than we can suggest you to visit the Bananal Island, that is
the largest river island in the world. The Bananal Island is located in the
Brazilian state of Tocantins, as should be good to reach the brazilian
capital of Palmas to start your explorations.
5 - RIO DE JANEIRO BEACHES
You will have a lot of fun here in the Rio Beaches. This is one of the most
important cities from Brazil, and also used to have some of the most
beautifull beaches as well! And you can get here almost what you want:
Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon beaches are side by side and remains
as the favorites. If you want to stroll a little bit, then Avenida Atlntica is a
great place for that. You can walk around with security and without any
kind of trouble. If you want to go ahead, try to visit Praia do Arpoador, a
prime site for surf and great location for watching the local guys catching
the waves.
4 - AMAZONIA NATIONAL PARK AND THE
AMAZON RIVER
Who was out of the world in the last few years that can't talk some words
about the Amazonia and the Amazon River. Well done, this is just the
most important ecosystem in the world. Is also the most broadleaf forest
that cover a huge area of the entire continent of South America. This
region includes territories that belongs to nine nations. From the total,
60% is majority from Brazil, 13% with Peru, Colombia with 10%, and with
minor amounts in, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and
French Guiana. One time in Brazil, try to spend some days in the capital
of Amazonas, the city of Manaus. This should be a good point to start
your jungle exploration. By the way, Manaus is a huge city, you will also
enjoy amazing days in this brazilian capital.
3 - FERNANDO DE NORONHA
This is one of the most amazing dive sites in all over the world! With a
fantastic visibility of the waters, Fernando de Noronha is an archipelago
of 21 islands in the Atlantic Ocean, 354 kilometers from the Brazilian
Coast. The only way to reach this islands is by plane (or sometimes in a
two days cruise) departing from Recife. It is also a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, and people that wanna go inside have to pay a small
environmental preservation fee, charged per each day in Fernando de
Noronha. Amazing place!
2 - THE IGUAZU FALLS
This is one incredible place in the border of Brazil and Argentina. Iguazu,
or Iguau Falls is located in the Rio Iguau, brazilian state ofParan and
is considered one of the brand New Seven Wonders of Nature, by the
New Seven Wonders of The World Foundation. You can visit this
wonderful atraction by both sides: Puerto Iguaz in Argentina and Foz do
Iguau in Brazil. Iguzu is wider than Victoria Falls in Africa and Niagara In
US as well.
1 - CHRIST THE REDEEMER STATUE ON
CORCOVADO MOUNTAIN
Maybe the most popular tourist attraction in Brazil. This statue of Jesus
Christ is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with His face fronting Sugar
Loaf. The Statue of Christ the Redeemer is 98 feet high and is the second
largest Art Deco sculpture in the world. It is at the peak of Corcovado
mountain and has become an icon of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. It was
made with reinforced concrete and Soapstone. Every tourist can visit the
top of the place and have this amazing view from the city of Rio de
Janeiro.
