Plain bearings can be exposed to constant weathering
when they are used outside. The UV resistance is an
important measurement and indicates whether a material
is attacked by UV radiation. The effects can extend from
slight changes in colour to brittleness of the material.
Testresults show that iglidur plain bearings are suitable
for outside use. Only for a few iglidur materials are any
changes expected.

Maintenance-free lead screw drives
drylin is a range of maintenance-free and lubricant-free linear bearings in six different options.
In addition the range is complemented by complete linear units with lead screw drive or toothed belt
drylin lead screw drives are always based on self-lubricating plastic nuts
and thus enable a life-long operation without external lubrication.
The lead screws (trapezoidal thread or steep thread) remains in dry operation,
providing many technical advantages. For example, dirt does not stick to
lubricants. The screw drive can thus be used on the one hand in applications
with extreme dirt accumulation and on the other in the hygiene sector. Different
thread types cover a wide range of applications.

The iglidur bushings are installed in the main
axles of the tracking system: They provide lowfriction rotary movements even under unfavorable
conditions. For the kinematics of the adjustment
system, Conergy decided on the drylin linear
bearings.
