division of day or night into eight equal parts.

The first part belongs to the lord of the day, followed by the remaining lords of the week in cyclic order. The eight
part is lordless.In the case of birth at night, out of the eight equal parts, the first seven are allotted to the lords of the
planets starting from the 5th. weekday.

Two different methods are popularly adopted for finding the longitude.In the first method an ascendant is
calculated for the beginning of the period ruled by the planet. In the second method, the end of the period is taken.
