The Dorn Method on the horse is a gentle,
non-manipulative , safe and effective way to
rebalance the joints and spine. It puts the
whole skeleton into its structural static norm
and thus allows proper use of the body. Slow
motions of the joints and spine are used,
which dissolves blockages thereof in a very
gentle way. It is the only therapy that includes
leg length differences. This and pelvic
obliquity are being corrected as well as every
joint put back into place. The Dorn Method
can be beneficial for:

TO BACK PAIN
The Dorn Method
How can the Dorn Method help?
A Wholistic manual Therapy and True Self
Help Method.
By applying principals of anatomy, physics
and natural laws, the structural system is
effectively re-aligned thus relaxing the
nervous system that connects the brain with
the rest of the body.
A Non-manipulative, safe and effective way to
rebalance the spine and other joints, the Dorn
Method can be beneficial for back pain,
scoliosis, migraine, leg-length discrepancy,
joint pain, chronic conditions
Developed some 30 years ago in Germany
the Dorn Method is fast becoming a popular
therapy for back pain, for humans and horses.
It is practiced in more than 20 countries
around the world.
A complete healing method, it incorporates 3
important factors:
avoidance
therapy
self-help (people)
A Dorn Method Practitioner is more than just
a therapist. He/she is a health consultant who
guides the client towards a solution for their
back pain by:
explaining the causes of the problem
applying a safe therapy with (not just
on) the client
teaching self-help exercises for long
lasting results in humans
In an intensive therapy session the clients
joints (and if necessary the spine) is
rebalanced using gentle counter-pressure and
dynamic movement at the same time. For
horses the handler is asked to help with some
of the exercises.
When the session becomes uncomfortable
the procedure is stopped immediately so no
harm can be done.
When the structural system is in better
alignment, the functional unit of bone-muscleligament and soft tissue can become more
relaxed. This will usually ease the pressure
onto the nerves which often is the cause of
pain and compensation.
By avoiding compensation and poor habits
that contribute to the structural mal-alignment,
together with self-help exercises that simulate
the movement achieved in therapy over an
extended period done, (usually about 2
month) the client is likely to improve quickly.
Usually only 2 to 3 sessions are necessary.
In some cases a longer period is advised. This
can be individually tailored and may include
more intensive and individual teaching of
home practice with the help of a partner or
family member.
Remember: Healing takes place
within us and with a little
discipline, understanding and
time,
small
miracles
can
happen.
Testimonials:
Just a quick note, I free lunged my horse
Saturday and honestly, I have not seen him
look so relaxed while trotting. He seemed to
glide. D.B. (This horse was dorned
Thursday and has a long history of skeletal
problems)
10 year old TB: Thank you for dorning this
fellow and making him a productive member
of society again. D.B.
