6.6 Auto-tuning

6.6.3 Function
Auto-tuning system consists of following function.

6.6.1 General
Auto-tuning system is the optional system to monitor and
adjust the cylinder combustion condition of main engine
automatically and facilitate the engine performance
keeping optimally.
This system consists of cylinder pressure sensors,
monitoring devices and Eco-Engine Control System. The
cylinder pressure sensors are mounted on each cylinder
and measured cylinder pressure. Monitoring devices
process the signal of cylinder pressure and indicate on
man-machine interface. In addition, the processed signal
is input to Eco-Engine Control System.

6.6.2 Power supply capacity


- Signal Processor:
Approx. 25VA (DC24V)
from Eco PSB

(1) Monitoring
This system can indicate the real-time value under
followings numerically or graphically, and these
values can be logged in each rotating cycle of main
engine.
- Maximum cylinder pressure (Pmax)
- Compression pressure (Pc)
- Indicated mean effective pressure (Pmi)
- Indicated horsepower (IHP)
Eco-Engine Control System monitors the condition
of cylinder combustion and system. In case that
whichever is abnormal condition, Eco-Engine
Control System outputs the alarms.
(2) Tuning
Eco-Engine Control System monitors each actual
cylinder pressure and control the fuel injection timing
of each cylinder automatically as the actual cylinder
pressure is coincident with preset pressure.
